so im assuming you want a condenser but then you will need phantom power or do you have phantom on the preamp

i've read that these rode mics are great.
also when i was in guitar center the other day a sales guy told me this was a pretty good budget condenser http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/AKG-Perception-200-LargeDiaphragm-Condenser-Microphone?sku=271243

i have the same setup. i sell my recordings.

get the m-audio nova mic and buy a pop blocker. then record guitar and vocals separately, but with the mic. trust me - best money i've ever spent.

I would listen to this guy. The quality of his stuff is golden.

you want a mic for live and recording then whats wrong with the sennheiser. but if you dont like the sennheiser i've always been partial to audix for live vocals the OM-3 is fine and i think it runs about 130

blue snowball, as good as you will before you get into the studio (or spend 1000's)

You might consider a Shure Beta 87a. It's a couple hundred bucks, but it's a condenser and would improve your recordings as well as help your live vocal sound.

Live mics generally aren't as good for recording and recording mics are usually too sensitive for live use, so this is a compromise that'll work for both.
