What kind of demand can be expected for all the UK shows? I'd like to set-up a trip around the UK dates but only Warehouse members with European addresses can purchase tickets, so I don't know if I'd be able to get tickets.

I live 2 hours south in Waterford and have been waiting for this gig since 1994. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I went onto ticketmaster an hour ago and sold out. I cant believe it
I seriously underestimated the power of DM.
When I saw the dates my concern was not about getting a ticket but about dave selling enough tickets and the gig going ahead. What a fool am I.
Got a ticket for Belfast but Cant believe he sold out in Dublin and so fast. The place is no sitting room, it is a large enough venue.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

This is soooo cool. I'm going with some friends. We all got our WH tickets for both Dublin and Belfast - I really hope the seats are good ones. When I saw Dave Solo in London I was very far away from the stage. But then again it was fine, because then I didn't have to sit next to those drugged up fans that were fighting. I really hope none of that happens this time, and Dave can relax and enjoy his own show :)

Ahhh SB N2, i had to get up and leave my 11th row b/c some drunk girl kept falling on me!! totally ruined my D&T show...thankfully the little usher let me go up into that little gated area off to the side. the view wasn't as great b/c of the angle but at least no one was falling on me!
I can't wait for this trip though, been trying to go to ireland for a few years and what better excuse to use than a DM solo show. i just booked my hotel in belfast, opted to pay a bit more to stay at the hotel right next to venue for pure convience. :multi
Can anyone tell me, what is the best way to get from dublin to belfast? i figured i'd just hop a train.

Sorry bud,but if you really want to go to the Dublin show i think Ebay will be your only way.
Loads of Irish didnt get tickets,i really doubt anyone who were lucky enough to score tickets will have spares.Same with amsterdam show.
Still Belfast tickets tho, don't think many PPl from the republic were up for going to Belfast for the show.
Good luck to ya tho!:thumbsup
the easiest way to get to belfast from dublin airport is the air coach from i think stand 9, just out side the main entrance. it takes just over 2 hours, check out www.aircoach.ie. if you want to get the train you may have to go back into dublin and then back out to belfast which in just a waste of time because you'll go south first to go north. the bus will drop you off beside jurys hotel in the city centre. its about 10 minute (longer with bags) to the waterfront hall if thats near where your hotel is (is it the hilton?). the city centre really isnt very big, and its dead easy to find your way around. if anyone is getting the train, central station is right by the waterfront hall which is where the dublin train stops i think. hope you enjoy belfast...your in for a treat the waterfront is a fantastic venue.

Train or bus Station, both real easy to get to in Dublin City.
Train faster/more expensive, buses cheaper-a wee bit longer tho.

You won't make the last Train from Belfst to Dublin on the night of Daves show, unless you want to miss the end of the show!
Last train around 10.15pm i think.
It takes about 2hours and 15 mins max too get from Dublin to Belfast.
You could rent a Car tho,and drive up.Havn't a clue how long it would take,I'll ask some mates that drive & let you know soon tho.

I very much doubt you're going to find spares now, especially to those shows as they proved 2 of the most popular.
Pretty much you're only option at this stage is to pay about $200 a ticket on eBay, mostly thanks to scalping and your crappy dollar :p

Regarding where to stay in Dublin, well am not to sure since i usually travel home from Dublin or crash at a mates house/flat.
Heres a link to an irish message board -http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054941710&referrerid=&highlight=b+b+hostel+dublin
With some links and that for places to stay in Dublin.I'd imagine if ye just get a place to stay in the city centre be best-you can get to the venue's easy enough via Taxi or whatever(The National Stadium for Daves solo show a bit further out of the city,The Point for the DMB show is like an easy 10 minute walk from central dublin).
Maybe try get a hostel or B&B in Temple Bar if possible-its a pretty kool Central spot in the city-lots happening there all the time-pubs galore !!!
The Place was absolutly kicking on New years eve!!!Awesome time!!
Hope this helps ye out,if anyone has any other Questions or wants me to look/check something out-give me a shout & i will try help out.
Happy New Year!!!Dave in Europe is edging closer!!:)

Yeah- try for Temple Bar area if your up for some craic, close to everything, transport shopping,pubs,etc-class place to stay.
Whatever suits your price range too,am sure it will be expensive enough to stay in the city, knowing Dublin is just way over the top more expensive than anywhere else here in Ireland!
.Just make sure you get something in the City-not on the outskirts of the city. You'll be grand!:thumbsup

Blooms

Hmm,all seem good,had a look at them,heard of 2 of them.
Depends on your budget lad,but if your going all out i think Eliza Lodge would be a good choice,Penthouse rooms- a mate of mine was there for a work night out in dublin & said was class.
Blooms looks good value for money, nicely located too-as is the George Frderic Handel(But more Expensive again).
Parliament Hotel-well,looks fairly Flashy Dosent it??!
All good choices,go for whichever suits ya best!
If you are on a tight Budget you should look into Hostels too, cause i heard on average they are Decent, but usually are booked up quiet often fast.

I did email the WH and said it would be great if they could get local acts to Support Dave/DMB on the european tour.
I'd rather see someone like Duke Special,Mark Geary,Fionn Regan, heck even Paddy Casey or Mundy support Dave in Dublin!
If he wasn't ontour already with his Band-dream support for me would be Glen Hansard Solo(The Frames)!!!!:thumbsup

If anything, Dave would support Ricer in Ireland, as he's such a big name here (unlike Dave).

i'm trying to do my budget for my trip...can anyone give me an idea of what a taxi will cost me to get from the jurys croke park hotel on jones's road (that's where my tour ends so its just easier to stay at the same hotel) over to the national stadium...i just got a map and didn't realize how far away the hotel would be...and are taxi's readily available outside the venue after concerts or will i have to call for one....Thanks for your help, can't wait to get over there...

Its not actually that far take a look at the scale of your map. The only prob will be traffic but they have now banned all High Goods Vechicles from the City centre so it should be a lot better. I would say that Monday evening about 20/25 minutes. More dublin dudes can correct
Not sure about cabs but book the same fella that brings you to pick you up at 10:45 in case DM goes on (please God) These cars normally run out of an office so can be booked.
The Luas around James Hospital is another option, but that is a bit on the dodgy side around that part of town I believe. Dolphin Road???

Doesn't matter to me as long as we're a group of ants that hang out together just like it's supposed to be :)
Being close to the venue would be smart since we have our tickets under will call but I guess a lot of "regular" people who're attending the show would fill up on booze at a place like that.

Whelans is where Roco Deluca performed in Kiefer Sutherlands I thrust you to kill me tv documentary. Where he walked the streets and gave out 250 tickets for free, packed the venue and the best show of the tour as declared on Leno in January '07
It is a legendary venue but has a concert in the back that night. Albert Niland is playing solo after being with Moving hearts for the last few gigs. There must be a place closer to the south circular so the others can collect will call's.

Its on in the National Stadium which is normally a boxing venue!!
A pair of tasteless trunks and a gum shield is the only dress code!!!!! Big gloves also if you think you can hold a beer with them. The concession stand will be selling fried Ear, vaseline and Avitene which is the stuff used by the cutmen to put into the cut to coagulate the blood!!

Dave Matthews Band Warehouse ticketing announcement:
Greetings Warehouse members:
We hope that you are looking forward to "An Acoustic Evening with Dave Matthews". We ask that you please try to arrive at the venue at least one hour before the show time of 8:00 p.m. (8:30 p.m. in Amsterdam and 9:00 p.m. in Milan) to collect your tickets. You may call the venue box office ahead of time to find out if your tickets will be available earlier in the day if you wish. At most venues, there will not be a dedicated ticket window for Warehouse members.
At general admission venues (beginning in Paris and ending in Copenhagen), where possible and practical, Warehouse members may be provided with a separate line to allow them early entry into the venue. You MUST be in this line with your ticket BEFORE the doors open in order to qualify for first-in-line privileges; if you are late you will have to line up with other concertgoers and wait your turn. We will be unable to determine whether the separate line-up is possible or practical until the show day, therefore please understand if you arrive at the venue and it has not been arranged.
Each show on this tour is "An Acoustic Evening with Dave Matthews" - and will start ON TIME time at 8:00 p.m. (8:30/Amsterdam and 9:00/Milan) with a performance by Dave Matthews. Please note that there will be NO OPENING ACT and the show start will not be held for late arrivals. Due to the intimate nature of the show, we also request that you assist in setting a good example for other concertgoers by refraining from talking or calling out to Dave during the performance and between songs. Dave Matthews will be most grateful for your efforts and applause is certainly encouraged between songs when appropriate. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Cheers,
Warehouse Crew

Need to wait and see in the morning what my surgeon wants to do with me. I couldn't tell him I'm not coming but will ask him to maybe hold off or something. Not sure yet. If there it will be hospital to gig to hospital. Belfast is looking very doubtful. :(
I would have been driving back some of the way through Drogheda but prob not now. Sorry

Hey Fint, Theres 3 cars going down with us to Belfast so there should space on the way back! 10 of us going together at the mo!!! ha ha! Sure ill c u tomorrow in Whelans. Hope to get there bout 5.30ish!
Molesworth St is just off Dawson St, Its 2mins walk from St. Stephens green. You will prob have to get a cab from the train station as its not a well known road. But its only 10 mins walk to Whelans and 20 mins to the venue!
Also, i know someone with 2 spare tickets for the Belfast show, if anyone wants them!

How easy it is to get to the venue from there? I work in Sandyford so not sure if its worth coming into City Centre and then back out to D8 for the show.

Looking forward to tonight, it's gonna be an awesome show. I got back really late last night from Glasgow, Dancing Nancies and Two Step was off the hook. Unreal concert and I'm pumped for tonight. Will be at Whelans as close to 5pm as I can get (depends on work), and I'll see you all there. I will also have my camera so will be taking a plethora of pictures and videos.

Well Lad!
Just rang the Box officeWont be able to collect Tickets till about 6.30pm they said, when Ticketmaster staff go to the Venue and start to get the ball rolling on opening for the show.
The Venue is privatly owned and just rented out to Ticketmaster through the promotor(MCD in Ireland for this show).
You are correct tho-its not GA,seated but your tickets should be collected according to the WH,at least 1 hour before the show.I'll be there for around just after 7pm now to be sure.
Hopefully can grab scoops at the Venue!:thumbsup

Good stuff, thanks for following up at the venue. Just mapped out Whelan's to National Stadium with viamichelin.com (http://www.viamichelin.com/viamichelin/int/dyn/controller/ItiWGPerformPage?reinit=1&strStartCityCountry=919&strStartAddress=25+Wexford+Street&strStartCP=2&strStartCity=Dublin&strDestCityCountry=919&strDestAddress=South+Circular+Road&strDestCP=8&strDestCity=Dublin&image2.x=32&image2.y=14)
and its a 6 minute drive, which is about a a 20-25 minute walk. My current plan is to catch the Luas from Sandyford and head into Whelan's for a couple pints before the show since it seems people will be heading earlier to collect the tickets. My mobile is +353 (0)86 816 0766, text me when you get there and I'll follow up once I get there as well. My first European Dave show for me, should be good craic.

Looking at the set list from Newcastle and Glasgow, the first two encore songs are Dave solo with the electric (Some Devil and in glasgow there was a second).
I would also like to hear PNP>Rapunzel and The Dreaming Tree and/or Pig. Wow, there's a lot of songs I want to hear. It's gonna be awesome and I'm getting excited. See you all there!

milan and paris will be great - i was considering going to paris, but i stuck to frankfurt, amsterdam, berlin and cologne :D
Great tour for you!
I wanted to go to Cologne. Actually I bought ticket but I made some mistake and they never arrive, then few days after I noticed the whole band would come around in may so I saved money for the Brussels show :)
