View Full Version : Possible 2007 Gorge Dates from Best Western

The Best Western in Moses Lake is booked from Wednesday, August 29 to Sunday, September 2. All other weekends in the traditional Gorge range (August and early September) are free. Even though it's a holiday weekend and the hotel may actually be booked, I checked about two weeks ago and Labor Day weekend was still free. This has been reliable in determining Gorge dates in the past (http://www.antsmarching.org/forum/showthread.php?t=154553). You can try for yourself at:

Why? There can always be more dates after the Gorge, it hasn't had the last shows of a tour since 2002.

It's probably booked because the warehouse offers it as an option... at least they used to. I'm guessing that's why the rooms are booked?

Zach, while those very well might be the dates now, plans can always change... All it takes is one date or two to change the tour schedule... The preliminary plan I'm sure is to play at the Gorge labor day weekend but that could change before March...

The Band and Family stay at CaveB Inn right next to the Gorge. as of 2006 They made the switch last year.

The Crew stays at Bestwestern from now on..
Both hotels are booked to the max Labor Day weekend

I'm tempted to call all the hotels near Alpine and Deer Creek and claim I'm Jeff Trump just reconfirming a reservation. They stay in Indy for Deer Creek I believe. Where do they stay for Alpine? I'm not actually going to do this. Just wish I knew when both were. I'm going to those two and Wrigley for sure. Might go to the Gorge. I drove from Northwest Indiana to Vegas and SB for Dave & Tim. Never driving to the west coast again. Depends on air fare.

You can try for yourself at:
http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern/productInfo.do?propertyCode=48045#null
You beat me to it. ;) But yes, based on what I have found in previous years with the BW, I'd say it is very likely to be Labor Day weekend too. :thumbsup

I liked Wildhorse a lot better than the campground affiliated with the venue. (I've only stayed at those two, but I hear that people prefer some others as well.) Wildhorse staff were a lot nicer and the campground was smaller. The ground was also green and lush and soft! I've stayed at the Gorge campground twice, and Wildhorse once. That night at WH wasn't loud and crazy. Some people were hanging out but it wasn't as loud as the Gorge.

You can camp out or hotel it (there is a campground on site and one about 3 minutes away ... plus several others 15+ minutes away), there are also hotels (but the nearest one is 30+ minutes away, and is booked already), you can drink and party before in the lots just like any other venue, there arent many cops to bother you since it is in the middle of nowhere ... your best bet for the airport is seattle, the rates in and out of arent too bad

Its about a 2hr to 2 1/2 hour drive from the airport to the Gorge campgrounds on a normal day. Last year on the Saturday's drive from the airport to the Gorge at 1:30PM we did not get to the campsite until 4:45PM, so that is something to think about if you are coming in for the 2nd night.

Look for George WA on a map and draw a line east to the river, that's where The Gorge is. You'll want to rent a car or try and hitch a ride with someone, people often set that up here on the forums. Or like a lot of people, myself included, you can road-trip it. The long drive with your close friend(s) is great fun.
The Gorge campground was pretty crazy late into the night so there's always a chance you might not get a lot of sleep but oh well. I stayed in a hotel N3 so it would be easier to get an early start on the long drive. The campground is a huuuuuge field (no shade, so bring your own) with a ton of Port-A-Potties that you will almost always have to wait in a line to use no matter what time of day and you should pretty much plan on not showering.
It's nice to not have to drive anywhere after the show, you just walk to your camp site. The cops are chill, just don't do anything stupid. And staying there is cheap, another nice thing.
It's a great experience pretty much wherever you stay though.
