I have never heard of anyone getting in for the soundcheck.

They usually take place about an hour or two before the doors open.

Oh so you have to get into the parking lot in time then, ok, i was just curious, I hear all the time about these people speaking about soundcheck differences, and I was just curious about the difference.

ive heard a soundcheck 3 times in my life, usually they take place between 4:30 and 6 and get to the gate or fence closest to the stage as possible unless your at a venue that has a good echo but outside its usually pretty hard to hear what theyre doing very clearly

At deer creek, you can easily hear the soundcheck from the lot... but most people are at their campgrounds still at 4 pm haha.

Not necessarily. The soundcheck is usually 2 or 3 full songs. A little improv and maybe some noodling.

Sometimes they play what they soundchecked. But not always.

It's nothing that I really care too much about getting, but it was really cool being right before my first DMB concert that I heard Satellite being soundchecked from the gates. It was that first moment like "holy crap, that's my favorite band, playing a song LIVE!"

i heard shotgun which strangely they did not play at blossom this summer. it was cool because i hadnt heard the revamped version of it.

i also could have sworn i heard dave tease dodo there too but my friend assures me it didnt happen.

when they started checking raven i almost screamed like a school girl. :lol

yeah, i showed up and they checked If I had It all and Raven and played them for the first time in a long while that night, it was raven's last show of the year after like a 2 month absense. it was really strange actually.

they also soundchecked "run while you can" or one of the new songs that didnt get into a show. it was interesting, had a kinda funky groove to it if i can remember. roi had some little part that was cool, or he was just messing around. oh and dave couldnt get any words out he just kept mumbling and i couldnt understand him off the echo.
