That seems to be the rumor among Dave fans here in my hometown....Just wondering if anyone else has heard. I will be devastated!!!....aparnetly the amphitheater is up for sale and the band always seems to get fined when they play there anyways......so i would kinda understand why if they decide not to stop in columbus

To try to help you with a serious answer...

I don't think you really have anything to worry about until the official dates are released. There are always rumors like this every year that get people freaked out. I doubt highly that one of their common stops is going to be skipped over this year altogether, so don't worry about it.

I sure hope there's a show this year. Last year they only played 1 night instead of their customary 2 so you never know.

I'm sure there will be one last show at Germain, but only one. If they sell the amphitheater and turn it into a parking lot, no big deal, I hate that fucking place anyway. But it is conveniently close for me. But I much prefer Blossom, secluded out in the woods... oh baby.

The reason DMB only did one night last year is because of poor ticket sales in the years before of 2 night stands. In 2004, night 2 at Germain was not sold out by any means, clearly visible blank areas in the lawn. In 2005, night 2 at Germain the lawn was VERY sparse. I'd say the lawn was at half capacity. So, that's why you have one night. Columbus isn't a very big concert market for any band. When most bands play Ohio, they generally either play Cleveland and Cincinnati and make fans travel north or south. Or they ONLY play Columbus because of it's central proximity in the state. I'm surprised DMB did so many double nighters at Germain, in 99, 00, 02, 03, 04 and 05. Other than Phish, I can't of any bands that have done that in Columbus in recent history. Also, DMB used to be a big hit with the college crowd, and Columbus has one of the largest college student populations of any city in the country. But honestly, DMB's college-band status has tampered off a little since probably the release of Stand Up, maybe a little before that.

its true and it sucks but blossom is 100 times better, no comparison. The only thing that blows about blossom is parking...buy a parking pass its worth it.

no columbus i was so dissapointed but i will still be going to the cinci show and definitley noblesville which is still close and always good

I was disappointed to see that there was no Columbus show this year. I was going to see DMB at this venue this summer for the first time, but maybe next year. :rolleyes
