I always wonder about these things. I love seeing shows in new places.

So in NJ we have the brand new Prudential Center (arena) opening in the fall of this year in Newark, right across the street from where I work - can't wait.

In Brooklyn there is the new Barclays Center (arena) opening in Brooklyn (I think in about 2 years)

2 hours north of me is Bethel Woods on the site of the original Woodstock. There were some rumors they would play there last year when it first opened.

I saw someone mentioned a new soccer stadium in Denver that just opened so that's a possibility, although you have to wonder why they stopped playing the soccer stadium outside LA.

There is also a new soccer stadium opening in Newark for Red Bull NY. I believe this is at least a year away from opening.

2 more outside possibilities would be the Citifield (Mets new stadium) and the new Yankee stadium.

Heck there is even the new football stadium that will be built for the Jets and Giants at the Meadowlands.

Any others out there???

Ahhh....I would like to see the band play at Turner Field in Atlanta again, or Phillips Arena in Atlanta. I think those would be fun venues to see the band at.

Since I am from Greenville South Carolina, I would love the band to come here again they did in 01 (BiLo Center). The band could play at the new baseball stadium West End Field, Keller Williams played there this year, not sure if it is big enough for DMB or not though. But either there or the BiLo Center would make my year.

It appears that Darien Lake may not be a stop for too much longer. Which means there will be need for another NY date, which either Bethel Woods or FLPAC could fill. I'd enjoy both.

That opens up a bunch more possibilities with minor league stadiums. They are everywhere now and dmb did play the one in Sacramento last year. Although the reviews didn't seem overly impressed with the setup.

This stadium is brand new, and I think the owners plans were to make it concert friendly. So what ever that means, I am sure he just wants to make as much money as he can. Bringing some body in like DMB would defenitly not hurt them in a $ standpoint. If it were only as easy as a venue wanting the band to play there, then I would try to get the guy to lol. But I am sure it is much, much, much harder than that.

I know the people who just bought it plan on keeping darien there. And i read in the buffalo news that they are possibly going to make it better so heres hoping to that since its like 15 min from me.

Im not all that sure of a place DMB should play....My first choice would be a weekend long jam, festival type thing up in Limestone ME, where Phish did their thing. As far as an absolute Perfect venue for a full band acoustic...yeah right, or a Dave and Tim show would be Tanglewood, In Lenox MA. Most of the summer, the Boston Pops play there, Boston Symphony Orchestra etc. It has inside seating, and a huge lawn behind it. It's a very mellow place, with people just on blankets chillin on the lawn....and i'm sure people would behave at a D+T show, just like they always do. Ok, so maybe when Dave is about 50 or so he can play there, so people should be grown up enough to sit down, and shut up and listen. Anyway, check out the place here. http://bso.org/ James Taylor usually plays there every year...Dave and Tim....just a little bit more exciting!

It's cool if you live a few minutes from it, but from my one experience there, it's nothing I'd want to drive a length to again.

I'm from Lyman and work in Spartanburg. It sucks that the band hasn't been to SC in almost 6 years. I went to the Turner field show in 2001 and it was the worst of the nine venues that I've seen Dave/DMB at. Philips Arena and BiLo Center were good places for a show (as far as indoor shows go). I haven't been to the West End Field yet. I've heard its nice though. Its smaller than most venues that DMB typically plays on the summer tour.

i've posted this in other threads...as much as i love bethel woods (i saw csny there last summer, and my best friend has a bungalow in white lake where ive spent many weekends, which also happens to be 2 miles down the road from the venue) i just dont think itd be practical for dmb to play there. i hope they prove me wrong...it is beautiful there and quintessentially THE summer music venue, beautiful sunsets, rolling hills, amazing views, great lawn, great atmosphere

but getting there would be insane. for csny it took us 45 minutes to get back to his bungalow which is 2 miles down the road...we got out and walked and still beat our other friends back by a half hour (we all would have walked but one we wanted to tailgate and two there is a gigantic hill to get up there) i just couldnt see the place holding dmb...also its a very small venue on the inside and a very small stage.

I agree. I wouldn't travel to it if I didn't live by it. I travel everywhere else to see shows. I was just saying i doubt they drop it since they have been playing there for a while now and the new owners plan on keeping it there and attracting the same bands as always.

The high school I went to just built a new football stadium and it is basically in my backyard, now that would be a show.

The setup at Raley was pretty sweet! It was a really small show compared to all the other shows I saw over last summer. I wouldn't mind them playing there again. Although, Sleep Train is a pretty sweet venue too.

Oh, and the only bad thing about Raley Field really is the fact you can't tailgate. Sleep Train, you can.

Looks like I'll be seeing you at a few venues next year. Can't wait! :)

i wish dmb would go back to playing clubs...even if the tickets started off at $300. they'd be hard to get, but so would the memories of the band that close.

I'd pay ALOT of money to see the band in a small club. :thumbsup

I'm hoping that they do a more extensive winter tour at some point (includes west coast). It would be cool to see an indoor show because at this rate I never will.

:thumbsup You Hawaiians deserve it...I've been to Hawaii about 4 times, and think it would be a beautiful place to see them play live. Is there any venue you can reccommend that would be a good place to see them play?

yeah redbull park was what i meant in my original post. didn't realize they had a website already. one bad thing is the traffic around there. it's such a compact little town. plus if people were staying at hotels in newark it could be a little dicey if you're not familiar with the city.

Well I live on Maui and we have one main place to see concerts here, and that is the A&B Amphitheatre at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center (AKA the MACC). It is an outdoor Amphitheatre with a capacity of about 5,000. I know it's pretty small, but I think it would be a nice starter place for DMB to test out their fanbase here. Some pretty big acts such as Santana, James Taylor, Pearl Jam, BB King, Willie Nelson, The Who, Jack Johnson, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan, and Jimmy Buffett have all rolled through the MACC. It is actually a pretty nice place to catch a show. I've been to about 4 concerts at the MACC, and I had a nice time.

If the MACC sounds to small for DMB to you, I know of some places on the island of Oahu that might fit the DMB fans liking as far as the size of the venue. One place is the Waikiki Shell which has a capacity of I think 8,000, just alittle larger. There is also the Neal Blaisdell Arena which has a capacity of 10,000. Or if DMB plans to do it big one year and play at Aloha Stadium (capacity 50,000) I'd be up for that.

i know for a fact that the paths first stop out of newark penn station is harrison, so they plan on a lot of people commuting by train...

i'm gonna have to disagree on that one. i love that place. right on the water. great setting. there may be bad things about it, like getting there and concessions, i don't know for sure, but the venue itself is pretty nice imo.

Xcel energy center in St. Paul hopefully. they usually play the Target center on the occasion they come to Minneapolis, acoustics are horrible there. the X is really good for concerts and it's huge.

Xcel center is applying for debt relief. that's not a good thing. but I agree. it is a really nice place to have concerts. I don't mind the target center but It would be nice to seek out a place with better acoustics. Other than that I don't think there would be anywhere they would come in my area of the country. Dakotas, montana... we're pretty much wasteland........

New soccer stadium in Denver, CO opens April 07. They said they would have 8-10 big concerts a year. Could be a possibility since there is no current outdoor venue that can hold DMB for one night in Denver. Well there is folsom field but I don't think they will ever go back there.

I know Dave will probably never go back to doing club gigs on a regular basis but a once a year Warehouse only club gig would be great...and on a side note I wouldn't care if he never did that I just really wish he would play General Admission venues more often. I hate being told what seat I have to sit it. That seems to go for any band, unless you are extremely lucky or pay throught the nose the general public rarely get the great seats. In the GA situation you have to fight to be in a great spot.

the sprint center in kc will be completed in october.

usually i'm not big on seeing dmb indoors, but it's supposed to have great acoustics. would love to see them maybe play it in the winter during a midwest arena tour. plus sandstone out in bonner springs is an incredibly shitty venue.
