I just bought an Ovation Celebrity, and I love it. What type of amp should I get? How much does this question matter for an acoustic/electric guitar?

Congrats on the Ovation! I'm a proud owner of two.

You don't really need an amp if you're not playing out.
You could get any acoustic amp if you wish to, but if you play out, alot of places have PAs.

What model number did you get?

i have to tell you, i bought the CS255 (12 string) recently. It has the shallow bowl shape. I love it.

I also have a Taylor 12er...i prefer the ovation. It's shocking, I know. Great guitar.

I got the CC 057.
I'll likely be playing in my school's jazz band; if I'm to be heard, I'll need to compete with three trumpets, a few trombones, and about a half-dozen saxes. Not sure which direction I want to go...

Like I said, I have two:
Ovation CS257 Celebrity Deluxe
Ovation 6756LX Legend 12-string

This is supposed to be an amazing acoustic amp:

Gotcha. Now what would be the main differences between that and an electric amp? I am extremely new to the electric guitar scene, although I've played acoustic for more than six years now.

Since you bought an acoustic guitar, you want an amp that best represents the tonal range of the acoustic.
Never fool yourself into thinking the O is an electric*.

* Unless it's an Ovation Viper, which is borderline electric. :)

What model number did you get?I have a Trace Acoustic that I use with my Guild.

I live in an apartment so of course I don't use it to amplify I'd be evicted pretty quick lol that is not the only reason to use an amp I use it to utilize effects pedals.
