I'm trading in my mandolin (worth in the neighborhood of $300) and I'm getting an acoustic guitar. Any affordable recommendations that you guys have that I should look into?! Any help appreciated!!

I've been trying to find a Seagull cutaway for a good price forever, but I can't seem to do it.

As long as you make sure you get a solid top, there are some good options in the range you're looking at from makers such as Ibanez, Cort, Washburn, et al. As you'll see in many other threads, best thing to do is go to your local guitar stores and play whatever they have for sale. Are you planning to buy from the place that you trade your mando at? If so, that might help you negotiate a good deal.

^^ help yourself and search.... alot of us have already contributed to threads exactly like this and there is alot of good info out there. Rob made a thread this month about beginner guitars that you probably could have referenced. I can assure you the info he provided was more insightful and learned than the above posts.

Are you planning on spending $300?
For that price range check out the Epiphone Masterbuilt series and Takamines.

^^ how do i act like i know everything? teach a person to fish and they can feed themselves for years. or something to that effect.
go back into your hole where you came from, your arguments have no basis in reality. your grasping at straws and its pretty obvoius to everyone here how limited your communication skills are.
