its a "special chord"
i'm trying to incorporate a killer baseline around this chord, any idea of some good modes that might work?

open up the B string and you'd have a full Emaj7 chord.

I was about to ask if this was a game. My guitar teacher used to do this to me he would show me chord diagrams and make me name them or give me a retarded chord name just to see if i could figure it out. Very good practice for being able to form chords in many positions

Actually, it's just a plain Em7. You've got the full triad (E, G, B) and the seventh on top (D).

If you're talking about that chord there is no B so there is no full triad

I love this chord.
There isn't one DMB song that it's used in that I don't like. Spotlight, WWYS, WWBOM...Good Stuff! :)

It's to create a song in an odd time signature. It's due February 15th, so feel free to create something.
