i've been the gorge a couple times. i've both camped and hotel-ed :)
unfortunately, the gorge usually falls at a bad time of year for me to take off work.
sooo... i was thinking of trying someplace new this year... anywhere in the US. but someplace where camping is still part of the experience.

are there any other good venues to see the boys at where there is camping??

:)

I camp whenever I go to the Alpine shows. The venue is right in the middle of beautiful woodland area. Tons of campgrounds within 1/2 hour of the venue.

Good times. I love camping shows.

Deer Creek is amazing. Granted it is the only show I camped at ever, but it was so cool. Everybody around us just wanted to chill. Drinking and smoking and such. We were some of the youngest people there, and we all got along well. The secuirty just let you do your thing, aslong as you were not being dumb.

I'm going to SPAC for the first time this summer and would LOVE to camp. Is Lee's a campground or something?

I'm a Deer Creek gal too, and an avid camper. Just started a "Noblesville" thread today, which is where Deer Creek is. It's fab; people come from all over to camp at Sleepy Bear, which is right across from the venue (Verizon Wireless Music Center). http://www.sleepybearcampground.com/. GREAT campground, clean, live bands after concerts, bon fire every night, hellova time!

Go to the Bristow show.

you'll sleep in your car for a good long while after that show.

Lee's is a 1st come 1st serve tent campground. It is pretty cheap and there are no assigned spots. Its an all day, all night crazy party and a hell of a mud pit when it rains. Its right on Lake Saratoga and is 10 min. from SPAC. DONT DRIVE DRUNK PEOPLE!

oooh thanks for all the good advice. i've never camped near SPAC, but i grew up near there so i'll probably try something different. Deer Creek sounds great and i've never been there... so sad to hear it might be gone!

out at pittsburgh post-gazette pavillion show , you can camp at bennet acres, it is a bout a mile down the road, normally 20 bucks a night and is a hell of a party scene , only bad thing the showers suck every time, i go there, hope this helps you

yeah, the facilities aren't very nice, but when you're that drunk and partying that much, who cares? :) and there is plenty of partying at bennett acres!

Never been to Lee's but from what everyone says, its crazy.

Moreau is a relaxing campground, but is a bit more of a drive(15 minutes or so without traffic, I think).
