Anyone here ever play one of these? Teles are my favorite electric and I was thinking of getting the Koa model. Any input would be great.

Never played one. I like teles and I like koa, though. I would love to try one.

I like the look of Koa, but not the sound on acoustics.
I'm sure Koa on an electric wouldn't sound too much different, as it's the pickups that are key.

I've found that Koa looks much better than it sounds. I played a Koa Goodall and it just did not sound that great. Too warm, no depth or versatility. That being said, it was the most beautiful guitar I have ever seen:

Yes it is, and it has a wide neck for an electric which I love. My first guitar was a Tacoma with a really fat neck and I got spoiled by it.
I'm thinking I'm getting it for myself along with a hot rod deville amp for my birthday. I'm going to be fronting a band back home and need something I can really count on.

FYI - The Koa Tele is not solid koa. It's a Koa veneer on a basswood body.
(That being said, the wood won't affect the tone as much as it would on an acoustic. )
