don't know how dave plays it but it's a pretty simple song
Em7-A7 for the verse
lead into chorus is C-Bm and on the Bm right before the chorus play a D after it and then the chorus is just G-D-A

this is a good tab. For the verse, hammer on third fret, second string off of the A chord to get a better sound.

I love Neil Youngs version he did on Live at the Fillmore with Crazy Horse.
If you like Down by the River pick up the album its on .... "Everybody knows this is no where" great album, same with harvest, self titled and his new live album he just came out with. :hump

-0---2----------------P
-2---2----------------E

everybody knows this is nowhere is standard. and he doesn't play in drop C he plays in D modal, which is dropping both E strings down to a D.
in that tuning he plays songs like
down by the river (occasionally)
the loner
cortez
cinnamon girl
old laughing lady

I love timmy's solo on it though...I think I only have the first one that was played though so I can't say if it was always that good.
but then again he could make a Backstreet boys song good......well maybe not the backstreet boys, but you know.
