Yeah, you get used to it though. It really just takes time. Patience and effort are the keys. You'll get it. Good luck with your playing :thumbsup

-Typical Situation
-Lover Lay Down
-Crash Into Me
These are all pretty easy.
And thumbs up for starting to play. Just stay with it, you'll pick up on it all sooner than you think.

Proudest Monkey is by far the easiest DMB song for guitar.

god i cant get butterfly for the life of me. I just can't get the rhythm down i guess. As for good songs for beginners Proudest Monkey is easy but it feels like im playing happy birthday or something, i just don't think its that fun. I've been playing for about a year and the dmb songs i know are in order of what i think are the toughest (Proudest Monkey and ABI not included)1.The Stone 2.Lie in Our Graves 3.So damn Lucky (took me AWHILE to get the verse) 4. Two Step 5. Spoon 6.Crash Into Me 7. Ants Marching 8. Grey Street 9. #41 10. Big Eyed Fish 11.#40 12.Typical Situation i think by far the toughest song is tripping billies i give up on it everytime i look at the tab lol....... Hope that helps a little!

For sure, singing and playing at the same time isn't easy. I was just talking about the guitar part itself.

What is the easiest NdmbC song to learn? My friend just gave me an old guitar because I told him I wanted to play, and so I got it last week--have no idea what to do. Help me? lol

proudest monkey has to be the easiest dave song.. lover lay down's chorus is not easy at all... the main riff is pretty simple though.

November Rain (chords)
All Along the Watchtower (all really depending what key your in, but if you play it the way DMB does, it's Am-G-F)

hello!
my recommendations for the begginer (repeating some that others have mentioned, naturally):
proudest monkey
seek up
blue water
typical situation
digging a ditch
big eyed fish
bartender
don't drink the water
halloween
christmas song
song that jane likes
spoon
crush
the space between
butterfly
gravedigger
crash into me
#41 (done the "simple way")
hell, that's a whole set right there (and a pretty good set too if it were jumbled around a bit)
also, some of the dave covers are pretty easy:
All Along The Watchtower
Ain't It Funny How Time Slips Away
Long Black Veil (<< VERY good beginner song)
Redemption Song
For The Beauty of Wynona
Munford

Learn Nancies. Two main notes and you learn a lot about Dave chord formations. And it's fucking awesome kick ass to play. The 'Sing and Dance' part is one of my favorite progressions of all time.
