I've been looking for new hi-hats for quite a while now and I'm getting ready to buy some. I was excited when Carter started using K Custom hybrids because I've been leaning towards them for a while.

I was wondering if anyone here uses them and could give me their opinion on how they sound and play. Also, if someone could send me a song they know carter is using his new hihats in I would love to hear it.

And anyone know if hes using a real pair or two top hats like he used to?

Thanks.

I haven't personally played the hybrids yet...but...I suggest you take a look at the A Custom Mastersounds...I absolutely love how they sound. I wouldn't trade them for anything. I replaced my dark K Customs with them. Just my opinion...but check em out if you haven't already.

I too have A Custom Mastersound Hats, but I also have a K Hybrid ride that is to die for! I have never heard the Hybrid hats because I've been so pleased with the A Customs.

what kind of sound does the K hybrid ride have?

if you have the A Cust. Masters you might like to try the A Custom Ping Ride...I use those together and they compliment eachother perfectly.

I've played regular A custom hats, I wasn't extremely impressed. The thing that worries me most is the sound edge on the bottom, I don't know how it'll feel to play on!

You mean the crinkle bit? It's on the bottom so it makes no difference. I have the mastersound A Customs, they;re real nice but not for quiet situations!

The Hybrid has an extremely versatile sound with not a lot of overtones....just enough! I tried the A Custom Ping and was going to get it until I stumbled across the Hybrid. The cool thing about the Hybrid is that it's crashable as well. The stick definition around the bell is very tight and precise and the wash on the outer edge is very managable. I haven't found a ride I like better.
