What do you guys think about this? Is it better to get it without the expression system? I have heard a few people complain about them, but thats been a few years. It will be in a 714ce.

For 2007 they reengineered the ES system and it now uses a 9v battery instead of 2 AA batteries.
I'll let you know in a month or two, as I have a 614ce Custom being built at the factory.

I like mine. (410ce) but I have heard even better things about the new one. The only thing I don't like is the battery rattle which I took Taylor's advice on how to fix it. The new one I guess is going to take care of it. I think the new one uses the same sensors but gives a battery indicator and switch to get what sensors you want. I don't know where you are getting your 714 from but you can just check the battery compartment to see if its the new one.
and if anyone wants the new one I think you can send it to Taylor and get it for $250 ( not 100% sure).

That wouldn't be bad because they would have to remove the neck and that will lead to them giving you a factory setup.

A friend bought a 714ce limited and decided he wanted a martin instead. So he is wanting to sell it to me for 2000. I thought it was a pretty good deal. It has only been played once or twice.

ive got a 314ce and i love the expression system. for what i do, i just like the sound better than the old fishmans or any other acoustics with pickups ive played. its all personal preference though. some people like it, some dont. make sure and play it good before you buy. and thats a good deal for a 714ce!

i just got a t5 maple top today :D
