Is anyone else out there bored today? What sorts of things do you do to combat boredom? Any websites or blogs I can check out to be entertained for a little while? I'm trying to avoid doing work to the best of my ability and nothing is really cutting it today.

If you're bored, stop in and say hi. Tell a joke. Post a story. Come on in and take your pants off. I will speak to you wearing no pants.

(I hope this works.. so bored..)

It wasn't a bad flight, overall. But a bunch of little things, and then just as we were getting our luggage and going home, the last straw. :lol They sent my suitcase on another plane. So it was either wait 2.5 more hours or have them deliver it to me. I had them deliver it, but only after 1.5 hours of waiting and then standing in line for a half hour for the privilege of asking where my bag is, only to be browbeaten by a lazy, angry, childish UAL employee.

Then I googled United and it was aaalllllll better because I saw that they are famous for abusing their customers (and employees, too, but the moron at Dulles last night needs a little more abuse). The stories were horrible, but I had to laugh at United for being just so... horrible.

[MEMOIRS OF A PIRATE]

Well, as you know, I'm a Pirate. I don't do much all day, I usually just sit around typing on a keyboard that isn't attached to a computer or anything for that matter. But for some reason, I'm getting somewhere with it. Where, though? I don't know...

That is, till now!

I was raised a land lubber. Didn't have much love for the ocean. Thoughts of Jaws and the Kool-Aid man surfing scared the shit out of me. No way do I want to be surfing when I giant pitcher of Kool-Aid comes in on a surf board. He'll he could've been spiked and be drunk for all I know. Last thing I want is to end up on the ocean bottom trapped in some gigantic glass.

However, living in MA didn't help with my fear of the ocean. I lived right next to it. So naturally my family went to the ocean a lot and I would often stay behind. Though one day I couldn't skip out, it was my sister's birthday. It was a lovely day. There was no escaping this one. I remember the fear in my heart as our car slowly passed over the wooden bridge to get to the beach. I kept my eye on the surf to make sure that damn Kool-Aid pitcher wasn't around. Nothing yet...

As we walked up to the beach, from the car, I could smell an fowl smell coming from under the wooden bridge we just crossed to get to the beach. It was like no other smell. A mix of Gerber Baby, Sweet Potato food and heated Vaseline. But for some reason it intrigued me...I couldn't get enough of it.

Though I was quite weary of the beach, I decided to let me nose do the hunting. At first I hated the smell, but was interested. But with each sniff I began to love the smell. It was becoming apart of me. Slower and slower I was getting closer, I mean, I could smell it...bad! Just when I thought the odor couldn't get more pungent, it did. And just when I thought I would be walking all day, I stopped.

About 3 feet away from me was the sexiest man I ever laid my eyes upon. Sexy in a pure odor fashion. My head and eyes started at his feet which were supported by two boxes that looked like they were used for holding shoes. In this case, they were his shoes. His pants weren't pants, they were Capris. Yellow and Pink polka-dotted capris, skin tight and not much left to the imagination. The shirt was a puffy white collared shirt. It looked worn from water exposure and possible seamen exposure.

Now you ask...the face? What about the face? The man was drop dead gorgeous. I wasn't sexually turned on, I was SEXUALLY turned on. I tipped my cap and said, "What glory it is to meet you...ugh...you..."

And he responded, "Alpha's the name mate!"

:hug :hug I loved your story! It cheered me a little. The part about the Kool-Aid man and being trapped in a glass made me totally bust out laughing.

Good story, love. :)

This is going to sound extreamely weird, but I actually wouldn't mind doing any kind of homework right now (except for Economincs, there was a reason why I chose Engineering as a major over Business). :lol

I got out of school 2-3 weeks ago (I can't remember, time flies by when you aren't doing anything) and have been bored out of my mind since then. :BANG:lorraine:BANG:lorraine

see i cant wait until july! i finished my exams, had one day off and then started this minimester course. my exam is on thursday. then ill have time off until tuesday! tuesday i start two more courses for the month of june.

i need a break. desperately! i would love to just be sitting around reading all these books that ive been waiting to read because i actually WANT to read them. :lol and i hate economics. so much. i love being a business major (and i never thought id say that) but ugh... i hate economics.

I really dislike economics. It was too many graphs for me. What part are you studying right now?

im doing micro right now in the minimester course. so... micro in ten days. :lol and honestly... i just dont care. i find it so boring. and its not that i couldnt understand it if i tried. i know i could. i just dont care enough to try! ugh!

1 1/2 more chapters to go. 1 more test. 1 exam. and then im done! i cannot wait until thursday morning when i finish that exam.

and then i start macro on tuesday next week. o goodness.:lol

[MEMOIRS OF A PIRATE GEISHA]

NARRATOR - Last we saw of Greg, he was clenched in the death lock by Cap'n Alpha's eyes and odor. What will Greg say? What will Greg do? Why does the Cap'n smell so bad? ALL THESE TO BE ANSWERED!!

*Commercial is played to ask patrons to buy food at the main entrance.*

I was staring the smell and all my imaginations right in the eye. The smell was intriguing and so was his gear. Then when I heard his name was Alpha I was even more amused. What is a sexy man such as himself doing underneath a bridge at a beach where the Kool-Aid man is surfing? I asked him that very question.

"None of your barnacle wax," he retorted quickly. I could see I was getting at something he didn't want to reveal. The smell, oh God, the smell was still there and still making me infatuated. I don't know if it was the smell or my fear for the Kool-Aid man, but I just blurted it out...

"You're a Pirate, right?"

Alpha was standing about 10 feet away from me, within two seconds after my last query, he was whispering into my ear. "Ye want to find out?" My posture was perfect and my eyes stared ahead, not even glancing at the Pirate who was taking aliking to my ear. I slowly nodded my head up and down. "Well ye will find out!"

I barely even heard the word "out" before I realized I blacked out. The smell that had once led me to Alpha was still around. But it was much stronger and much more abundant where I was. Wait, where am I??? I passed out after meeting that strange fellow and have no idea where I am. Wasn't I supposed to be at the beach for my sister's birthday? Damn it; look what I did this time!

Before I could do any investigating as to wear I woke up, a bright light came from up above me. I must be trapped in some cargo hold of some sort. It sounds like the ocean still, I must be on a boat. Just as I was thinking of my position, I answered my own question. I was pulled from underneath the deck and brought to the captain's wheel of this makeshift boat. This must be Captain Alpha's boat.

Alpha said, "All hands, feet, and peg legs on deck!" After the boom from Alpha out came three rag tag men, all looking like Pirates themselves. I must be in for some treat. Not only have I met one person with the glorious smell of Gerber baby food and Vaseline but now three more with the same odor. That's why it was so strong on this boat. I kept thinking about this smell, so I asked the Captain what it was all about.

He responded with, "I have an army of babies and young children. Feeding them is no easy task, and I've been told sweet potatoes are the best for raising an army of youngsters. Feeds their passion. The Vaseline, well that's a whole nother story. In fact a story that will play out with you being involved..."

I clenched the pockets of my pants with my hands. Uh oh...this doesn't look good.

The Vaseline...why is the smell of Vaseline all around this boat?

Alpha - "We be huntin' mate."

Me - "Hunting what? I'm sick of these quick answers that make no sense at all. I need something to go on here."

Alpha - "Ye have had dreams like I, no?"

Me - "What?!?! What are you talking about?"

Alpha - "The big red fella. Ye know, the one with the glass as a head. Ye had dreams of drowning in his bowl while he surfs by, right?"

Me - "How'd ye know? And why did I say 'ye' for the first time?"

Alpha - "There is much for you to learn mate...now step aside, we got some tropical bunch to capture!"

And like that, the masts of the ship were set and we were off. Riding the wind like it would never end. I assumed the Vaseline smell was used either to attract the Kool-Aid man or to scare him away. I would soon find out what the real intentions were, but for now I was just enjoying the ride.

I was on the water. For the first time in over 10 years I had ventured into the water after my frights of Jaws and the Kool-Aid man. But today I was to rid myself of one of those fears. No longer will I fear the ocean due and it's red tide, it's red tide of punch. It was time to conquer this fear. But what was I to do? I have no sword, no eye patch, nothing of intimidating fashion. I asked the Pirate what I should do, when I noticed he wasn't steering the boat.

Instead Alpha was tapping mindlessly at a keyboard that was connected to nothing. I asked him where the wheel was and why he wasn't attending it. He asked if I was mad in the head. He was steering the boat, steering with the keyboard. Normally I would continue to question the gentlemen, but for some reason it made sense. Everything made sense. The baby food with Vaseline smell. The boat. My fate with the Kool-Aid man. The keyboard. The polka-dotted capris. Everyone was coming full circle.

Not because I was understanding anything...but because we physically had come full circle. Alpha was across from me, the keyboard to my right, and the Kool-Aid man (mysteriously appeared) to my left. The smell was everywhere. Full circle.

Alpha - "Where'd ye come from red man?"

KoolAIDs - "I'm everywhere...OOOOO YEAH!!!"

Alpha - "You mean, your red insides will be everywhere?!?!?!"

Me - "HELL YEAH!!!"

KoolAIDs - "OOOOOOOHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOO!!!"

Alpha proceeded to toss me the keyboard to nothing. Without thinking I took the keyboard and knocked KoolAIDs glass. It cracked. The big red creature's smile soon turned to a frown as the glass slowly cracked more and more till all his liquid was gone. We tossed the glass off the side of the boat, but then we noticed that he wasn't quite gone yet. Since the boat was coated with Vaseline, the kool-aid liquid was not able to soak into the wood. Instead the liquid just floated on top of the Vaseline substance on the boat.

So we drank him.

What happened? I guess I can backread... this thread, right?

Yes, I had a BLAST. Sunday night we had a little impromptu party with neighbors from both sides coming over and a friend with a guitar stopped in and serenaded us as we sipped on White Russians (and other little treats ;)). He's a country singer :freak, but it was nice anyway.

Here's an example of my funny friend's sense of humor. I was talking about how I want "She died in the arms of a man half her age" on my gravestone, even if it's not true. She replied that she wanted "Died choking on the gadgetry of a man twice her age" on hers. :lol

I backread... LeeAnne, that is terrible, terrible. :hug :hug :hug :hug So sorry it happened and that you saw it happen. :(

I see her 1-2 times a year, and we talk a lot on the phone and online.

The guitar guy was flaming hot, had a great stage name for country music - Gary Lincoln, a great voice (for country music), and is an incredible songwriter (for country music. lol). He should be very successful. But if I start hearing him wherever I go, I will kill him. I know where he lives.
