From personal experience, I'd say Florida and the Yankees.... but I don't follow most pro sports that much... And by worst I mean rude, obnoxious, overbearing, etc...

Every team has shitty fans, some just have more than others. In the Yankees case, its just so happens that they are all this way.

Other than that, any Boston team fan, Penn State, Steelers, Eagles, anyone in Philly and Lakers fans because they are all bandwagoners.

Philadelphia Eagles fans. Shove those E-A-G-L-E-S chants up your ass; you lost your entire offense except for Donovan McChoke and thus this season is down the shitter.

See here's my deal...I love passionate sports fans. Yankees fans are very passionate, and the Red Sox (even though they suck ass ;) ) probably have one of the most hardcore fanbases in sports. I'd rather go to a game with a great crowd like at Fenway, Yankee, Shea or Citizens Bank park rather than sit through the silence of the Tropicana Dome.

But when I'm at a DMB concert or a Phillies game in July, I really don't appreciate them singing their damn song and wearing their "TO Swallows" t-shirts.

It's one thing to be hardcore, and another to be just annoying.

Hey, McNabbs not a choke artist....hes just this generations Jim Kelly.
he just can't tell time. oh, and if he loses, it's because he's broken a major bone in his body, not because his O Line sucks. Oh, and if he's injured, it's not because of the Eagles doing something wrong, it's just bad luck.

But he's "The best QB of all time" to anyone from Philly. Right. I actually have a friend, who, in 2004, bet me 100 dollars that the Eagles would win 3 super bowls in a row after losing to the Patriots.

Normally, I feel bad about taking someone's money. But I didn't mind taking that Benjamin.

or staring that chant at a DMB show in Mansfield. Really smart, dumbasses. Start chanting for a team in the city where that same team was demolished in the super bowl 3 years ago.

Same with the Jets. Any fans that spell out the name of that team as the main cheer is nothing but a bunch of douche bags.

We are assholes, but for good reason. Our team actually wins shit in an era where the league has set it up so no one team should win shit many times.

Because basing ones judgment off a group of bandwagon fans, or what one reads on a message board is not a viable way to understand what a fanbase is about.

So, flatly, I disagree with you and your thoughts that I posed a poor argument.

So you can't form a legitimate opinion of a fanbase by, say, attending any number of games at that team's homefield, or even watching hundreds of their games on tv, or any of a thousand other ways of hearing about said team and fans?

Unless the guy you were arguing against said specifically his opinion was formed by message boards I think you were too quick to say what he can and cannot have an opinion about.

And it may be redundant but he said he lives in Alabama. Do you know if he lived in New York for his entire life until recently?

New York has some of the greatest fans. Ive been to other cities to watch ball games and they are boring as shit. We may be obnoxious at times but i think its because we are truely passionate about our teams. We sell out stadiums for 7 pro teams, and have you ever heard a player say he doesnt want to play in NY? Most players are thrilled to play in NY because they know if they perform, us fans will show them the support and affection. If they dont, they will hear it, and will move on to another team most likely. who cares if we are obnoxious anyway, you guys really care about the feelings of these players making millions?

I saw a guy in all Yankees gear in the bleachers one day at Fenway, and a SOX fan actually ripped his seat out of the bleachers and beat the Yankees guy down with it.

Best thing I had ever seen at a ball park until then. That was, until I went to Oriole Park at Camden Yards and saw the bird get the crap beat out of it by drunk Yankees fans. THAT was awesome.

Philly fans are crazy. Seriously insane. I knew a guy who got thrown off the upper deck at an eagles game because he was wearing a Giants jersey. He spent six months eating through a straw.

Ok not really, but you can imagine it happening.

I wouldn't put it past them. If I ever hear that headline on CNN, all I would think is "Yeah, that's Philly". I mean, they DID boo Santa.

I would say Philly fans are the most insane, but also the most loyal, along with Cubbie fans. Year after year their team(s) can fall apart, but "next year is our year". NY fans (especially Yankee fans) are the cockiest because they live in the "the greatest city in the world" and are TOO used to winning. Red Sox fans think they're the shit but more often than not, THEIR team is the one that chokes.

Also, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Penguins fans have for several years now been said to be the best fans in the AHL. I am not just saying this because I live in the area, this is what is said by players themselves. Many times I've heard players say that SWB is the toughest place to play because of the fans.

i hate all bandwagon fans, but especially bandwagon red sox fans; it was "cool" to be a red sox fan, since they hadn't won in so long and were the "underdogs" to the high-spending evil empire yankees. i went to school at syracuse, where most baseball fans claimed to be yankees/sox, and am sick of bandwagon fans. sure there were bandwagon yanks fans, but seemed like there were more red sox bandwagoners since it was trendy. when they played earlier this year, in april/may, they had the game on at the bar and someone hit a hr (can't remember who it was) and this girl next to me went crazy. i asked her who hit the hr, and she looked up and they had a close up of the batters face. her answer was trot nixon. i hate stupid fans like that.

My team is Penn State, and we don't recognize basketball as a collegiate sport.....because we suck.....every year. So my reply about UK was in terms of football, which I don't think UK had anything worthy of being talked the past few years except for your lineman that played QB.

you didnt notice us going 9-5 last year and beating the shit out of clemson in the music city bowl and having 2 all americans (and 1 honorable mention on defense) and having the best QB (both completion percentage and total TD's and fewest INT's) in the SEC last year?

Actually, I was too busy being in the student section for the Penn State games. Its about a 2 hour drive from where I live, and when there is a home game, I never see anything on ESPN, and I hear very few scores because my morning and night are used for traveling. I also don't pay attention to much outside the Big Ten. I don't like any other team, so why bother paying attention to them?

Oh, and BTW, the doc gave JoePa 10 more years of coaching. He is going to live FOREVER.....and if he somehow does happen to die, I'm betting he will be burried in Beaver Stadium, kinda like Jimmy Hoffa in Giants Stadium, but we'll actually know where Joe is.

that makes no sense. the all time wins record, spread out over 80 years or so, means nothing while the national championship record, which is spread out over 50+ years and the current leader won 10/11 titles in a span of 12 years in the late 60's/early 70's, is the all-important stat?

I was pre-warned before I went to the game not to wear my team colors...fuck that, i'm wearing my hokie shirt. i saw a bunch of kids throw hotdogs and empty beer cans at an older couple (probably 65-70) as they walked by. i was personally pushed into a wall several times through out the game and after the game which they won...they burned coaches to celebrate.

Every team has shitty fans, some just have more than others. In the Yankees case, its just so happens that they are all this way.

And this shows how ignorant you are. There are probably more intelligent, dedicated Yankees fans than there are for any other US sports team, period. There is a reason why every single Yankees game sells out at every stadium they go to. It's because they have fans everywhere. And theyre not all assholes.

I hope you are a Red Sox fan...

Especially when the other contenders' team's starting quarterbacks are named Romo and Eli

that makes no sense. the all time wins record, spread out over 80 years or so, means nothing while the national championship record, which is spread out over 50+ years and the current leader won 10/11 titles in a span of 12 years in the late 60's/early 70's, is the all-important stat?

I shouldn't say the all-time wins record is meaningless; it isn't, it's hugely significant. But juxtaposed to the all-time championships won list, it's meaning pales in comparison.

A-Rod is okay. I just hate him as a human being, more or less.

He's easily one of the top 5 players in baseball.

Doesn't mean hes a good person. Also doesn't mean I'll cheer for him, or like him.

Same with someone like Clemens. Guy might be a good pitcher, but he sucks at life beyond comprehension, so I will never cheer for him.

What the hell? What are you talking about?

They knew where Charlotte was when we beat Philly in the NFC championship.

Let me clue you in on a few things:
1. NFC = Pop warner
2. NFC East = Pop Warner players who don't get picked in gym class, up until this year
3. Winning a division is not impressive. You don't see me running around bragging about the Patriots winning 4 of the last 5, do you? Why? because it's not indicative of a good team.
4. Winning a division means shit unless you win the big game.

again, say it with me: The Eagles will not with the Super Bowl this year. make history for all from Philly. C'mon....

Thanks for providing us with an example of why you guys are the worst fans in sports.

Not in terms of you don't support your team, but most of the Iggles fans are arrogant pricks. :thumbsdow

or, they just don't have the memo that the Eagles are not good, but carry on as though they have 10 rings in the past 11 years.

The Eagles could go 1-15 this year, and the fans will still think they are the best team in the NFL and should go to the super bowl. Or, they will come up with more excuses as to why they sucked AGAIN. Or both.

I almost got in my first and only fight of my LIFE b/c of some stupid white trash St. Louis Cardinal fan talking crap to me for no reason.

I'll say Cardinal fans, b/c that's the worse experience I've had w/ a sports fan personally.
