Help With Seeding/Sharing Shows

Hi all, First post for tech, so, go easy on me...
I have a ton of bandwidth to share shows, and have now downed about 10.
Is there a difference between seeding a show, and, just letting the torrent stay open after I have completed the D/L? I'm using a mac so, all of my software is somewhat diff then what I read about in the seeding FAQ.

Yea that's the same thing. Seeding means that you have the full show and now you are spreading it to others. Leave your torrent open for as long as you can share. Minimum should always be until you get to a ratio of 1.

Alright, so I'm pretty new to this and read the FAQ forum, but am still confused. I just downloaded both torrents for 8.26 and 8.25 at Alpine and that all worked great...but now, I want to keep sharing it for others, and in uTorrent it says "seeding" but they aren't uploading to anyone. What steps do I go through now?
