When we played California, we were 11th. We lost, moved down to 14th, but it was a bye week. During the week, lots of big teams lose, and we move up to 9th. But goducks.com doesn't have a slot for the bye week, so all you see is-
Sat, Sep 29 California * Ducks Rank: 11 Opp. Rank 6
Sat, Oct 13 Washington State * Ducks Rank: 9 Opp. Rank -
:lol Like I said, easily entertained.

Just read Chris Fowler (blech)'s "Gut Check Saturday" piece, and Autzen got a big thumbs up.
Oregon has the week off, so the Ducks' check comes Oct. 13. They fell apart after the loss to Cal last season and must conquer their collective heartache over the agonizing climax Saturday. The real test will be a visit to Husky Stadium Oct. 20, the week before the Trojans visit Autzen.
By the way, it can be confirmed again from this "ear witness" that Autzen is in fact among the loudest places in college football, and may be the loudest "per capita" as Lee Corso likes to say. It's just deafening for opposing offenses, on par with The Swamp and Tiger Stadium -- two venues that are almost double Autzen's size.

I wonder if that third QB that Belotti put in is going to be starter next year. He's a freshman, and there is a sophomore QB, but he was in there for one play (1/1 10 yards). He's a big dude, 6'6", 210. I don't really think I want Belotti to go with a QB that isn't mobile. I hope we get to see this guy (Justin Roper) again.

ESPN's quick recap gives me a little chub.
It was over when... Oregon scored 40 points in the first half. Most will argue it was over long before then (even a 17-0 deficit is tough to come back from). But 40 points is the definition of insurmountable.
Gameball goes to... Dennis Dixon. Hello, Heisman race. Dixon has been under the radar, but his 303 total yards, three passing TDs and another rushing score put him on the map.
Stat of the game... 551. Oregon put up some massive yardage -- 551, to be exact -- yet it's just the third-highest total this season for the offensively explosive Ducks.

Here's how I see it. If we win, which the good money says we do, our future is in our hands. Either National Championship or Rose Bowl. If we lose, than ASU is obviously an extremely good team, and will probably win out. That would put them as a lock for the Championship game (undefeated through the PAC-10 is much better than undefeated in the Big 10 or Big East), and that means we're #2 in the PAC, and it puts us in the Rose Bowl.
Obviously that's a lot of "if"s, but I feel a lot better than I did.
