View Full Version : Indiana University Football (Finally Respectable)

The 3-1 Hoosiers are finally a decent football team that can come up with big plays. Discuss the development of Kellen Lewis at QB and the odds that James Hardy is a first-round NFL draft pick. I've also included some of my reports for the Student TV Station on Campus where I reported from each game...RIP Coach Hep!

I know, I just felt like saying that. ;)
And the Heels are looking horrible again, this year.
We are 1-3, but we fear not, we have Butch Davis on our side.
I look at our situation alot like Illinois was 2 or 3 years ago. The Illini were horrible, but Zook came in and turned things around. I think Butch will do the same for us. :thumbsup

Very similar situations. All you need is two good recruiting classes and for those kids to believe in the program and what the coach is doing...much like is starting w/ Indiana as well. Illinois and Indiana are gonna be a force to be reckoned w/ next year in the Big Ten...maybe even a little this year.
2 years from now, the Heels may do something in the ACC.

Yeah, we just had a top 20 class this past year, and Butch only had about 2 months to recruit.

IU could win 7-8 games this year, let's hope they do. With no Michigan or Ohio State on the schedule, this is the year to do it.
But really, I can't wait until the Eric Gordon era begins two weeks from Friday night at midnight madness. The basketball team is going to be a force this year, i am beyond pumped.

Indiana needs to just get after Christensen like UW did. But, again, they have to somehow score on the Iowa defense.

Yes, with who's players? Then they went out 2nd round, then first round last year as a #12 seed when it was debateable as to whether or not they should've even been there in the first place. So basically they've gone from greatness to being average in 3 seasons under the guy. Nice work. :thumbsup

Of course it was w/ Self's players. But you still have to coach them.
You're right, they've been on the decline for the past two years, but there's usually a transition when a new coach takes over, especially w/ a totally different philosophy of the game. We'll see what happens this year.

Somone said that Webber was running our program into the ground, but he isnt. We have a lot of solid recruits, it may not be like UNC's, but guess what, it never is.

I don't think anyone has said it's bad recruiting. It is, however, not particularly good recruiting either. It is a class hovering around the 30th best in the country, and fourth best in the conference, without a big time player.

James Hardy is nasty. I'm certain he's going to be a solid NFL player.
I was at the game on Saturday. It's pretty amazing how far this team has come. I just wish Lewis would start running again. He says he wants to become more of a pocket presence, but I don't know why he would stop running when he has shown time and time again he can give defenses fits. (54 yard TD run in the 4th on Saturday, for one)
spoot388
10-22-2007, 10:49 PM
Hardy was amazing vs Penn State. King is a very good corner, but Hardy just reached over his head and snatched the ball out of the air in the endzone. I kinda hope he goes to the NFL after this year because I think he might do even more damage next year against Penn State.
And Lewis is gonna be a beast once he realizes what he's capable of doing. He's like an apache helicopter; he's got a gun and can FLY. He's gonna be scary good the next couple years.
