If I am correct .flac is a slightly more condensed file than a .wav or .shn....
....but I could be wrong.
EDIT: but it's still lossless

FLAC is compressed, but still lossless
WAV is uncompressed and lossless.

Yes, the following holds true:
WAV > FLAC/SHN > WAV will result in a WAV that is identical to the source
WAV > MP3/MP4/WMA > WAV will result in a WAV that is NOT identical to the source
