Well...I'm studying for a semester in Sydney from February to June and since ive seen all my Dave shows at Darien Lake and one at Blossom, I gotta see everyone's opinion on DMB doin an 08 Australian tour...

Is 08 the skip year since he did shows in 05 and 07?? will they do an Australian tour in February and March? i hope so! that would be the sweetest thing ever!

Well there is that famous quote by the East Coast Bluesfest director who said that DMB would be back in 2008 after cancelling, so let's home that's true and they play some more shows while they are here. :D

my heart nearly skipped a beat for a second an Australian tour in 2008 I wish but there are so many ifs and buts and with the screw ups regarding this years tour who knows if they'll ever come back........................

BUT I'm hanging onto the "promise of DMB coming to the ECBRF in 2008" and have already taken the time off work................pre empting a tour around that commitment..................

Does anyone know when the line up for the 2008 ECBRF will be announced???

I'm pretty sure that it was around the start of December last year, so probably the same this year.

I was thinking no... but starting to think YES!

already got my bluesfest tickets

I was thinking it would be great for dmb to release an aust DVD to expand their international fanbase. Dave loved bluesfest so here's hoping/

correct, 10 hrs from syd if you only take a few stops, otherwise you can fly to Ballina and it's about 25mins to byron

by the way guys it's not a promise that dmb will come back to bluesfest, it's more "you owe us" for bailing on last year.

At this stage i'm thinking i won't be going to bluesfest next year...for the first time in 4 or 5 years.

I must be getting old cos last year it was just wet and cold and very very crowded...and i was getting crotchety at the people smoking in the tents and pissing pretty much anywhere they wanted.

i guess it didn't help that i had the west coast bluesfest to compare it to like a week earlier where it was warm and sunny and people were chilled out...

Of course I say that now...let's see what happens when dmb/d&t announce a tour....:rolleyes

nah i didn't go last year

so say if i wore a billowing cape, yelled 'three cheers for the mountaineer!' and smoked a cane chair i'd fit in?

It's over my dad's birthday, so i'm still indecisive

I went for 3 days & had a fantastic time. Yes it was wet, but the people I met were great & the only guy that bugged me smoking put it out when I asked. But I might have spent more time in Crossroads tent than the main tent (at least after Friday) & that wasn't as crowded & if I timed it right I could usually get pretty close to the front.

Did you know the venue's changed from Red Devil Park to Belongil Fields?

It would probably also be cheaper to fly, especially if you fly to Brisbane or the Gold Coast & if you don't leave it until the last minute to book the flight. This year flights to Ballina were a lot more, but I may have left the booking too late. There's probably a good chance you could organise a lift with someone from one of those locations. Or maybe there are buses???
