They are very pretty, I'm sure. ;)

:thumbsup Hey like I said, if the Colts were the ones doing this, I'd acknowledge it and wouldn't even try to defend it, I know enough about the game.

But short of the Colts killing kittens, I'm not gonna stop being a homer.
Oh, dont' get me wrong, I'm still loving the Pats and the 8-0 (soon to be 9-0) season!! And I'll be loving it for a long long time! But I haven't been defending them because I can see what the rest of you are seeing. And for years I was always impressed that the Pats didn't run up the score, and now they are, and I dont' particularly like it. But I like the 8-0 record for sure!!:D

How has a bruised knee limited him this long? I hope they are just making extra sure he's 100% for this game... He had a bye week, a play count vs Jax, then didn't play at all yesterday. I hope he's ready to go.

There's actually grumblings about the injury being worse than the Colts are making it out to be.

I hope it's untrue and will be 100% for the game.

CBS has informed us that the unusual audio moment heard by fans during the Patriots-Colts game was the result of tape feedback in the CBS production truck and was isolated to the CBS broadcast. It was in no way related to any sound within the stadium and could not be heard in the stadium.

I read something this morning in some random blog where a guy said that it doesnt matter if the Colts are accused of murder, their owners/GMs will just talk to whomever is investigating and make whatever they do legal anyways, so there's no point in even accusing them of anything but "being the best".

I guess that proves Brady really is a cry baby.

Yesterday, Peyton was the crybaby getting furstrated and losing his call when things werent going the Colts way...aka slamming his hand into the ground...walking around with his head down, etc...you know things he normally does when he loses or has a bad game...

Give me an example of when Brady was a crybaby, cause I bet you can't. He was asked if it was loud and he said it was, how is that whining. You guys really do just look for things to complain about. I would be willing to bet that if the Colts indeed were cheating yesterday, you guys wouldnt think it was that big a deal, but if the Pats did it it would be the end of the world.

The worst one was the one called on Ellis Hobbs when he just flat out beat Reggie Wayne...

The Pats won the game and I think the officiating was some of the worst I have ever seen. What do I have to gain by saying that? The refs did a good job in trying to give that game to the Colts, and that is the honest truth.

I could go on and on and list all the calls that were RIDICULOUS, but I will just leave it alone.

The Colts may not have gotten the 2 FGs had they not been given 2 bogus pass interference calls way down the field that set up FGs......

And the Pats may have scored more if there was a call when a defender actually held Moss' hand while Moss was attempting to catch a ball, or if there was a call when the same thing happened to Kevin Faulk....

The patriots would have beat them by much more had the officiating not been so horrible.

I find it funny that you make excuses for why your team didn't run up the score this week...given the opportunity, i'm sure you would have. oh yeah, and if you want to talk about officiating, there was plenty of holding going on that didn't get called during the game, mainly against your beloved pats. you may have won the game, but you were also awarded with the most penalty yards ever during an NFL game. class class class.

P.S. See you in Foxborough in January...

So let's say the Pats were accused of doing it in Gillette. You think it would have been dismissed as quickly? If so, ignorance is bliss....

No, it wouldn't have. It's only more natural for accusations to be taken more seriously for repeat offenders than people/teams who have been cleared in the past.

Well, having Harrison and Ugoh is cancelled out with Morris, Troy Brown and David Thomas not being in, so what's your point?

:lol :lol :lol

There are no super stars on the patriots, so Troy Brown, Dave Thomas and Sammy Morris are key to that offense....just as Harrison is to the Indy offense.

This was true before they revamped their receiving corps ... now, not so much.

I love how the Colts fans can wine and give excuses that the Colts weren't at full strength without Marvin Harrison and their other no name players, however, they fail to realize that last year in the AFC Championship game in the 4th qtr The Patriots were without Colvin, Seymour and had Brady throwing passes to Caldwell who dropped balls. And Rodney Harrison wasn't playing either. But its ok the Colts were without Marvin on Sunday so its a moral victory... I hope we play the Colts again in January with Marvin in the game because we all know (03 & 04 Playoffs) that it didn't matter.

I also love how Colts fans can talk up their physical defense. That you are Colts, very physical and have a great safety in Sanders. Pats were a real physical team a few years ago and then the Colts front office complained to the league and got their way.

Rewind to 2006 and we have a sissy Pat Rule and some awful pass interfearance calls and we have your 2006 AFC Champions. I thought for a moment I was right back on my couch in January with the calls this past Sunday.

You got your Superbowl, yet I feel like there is still some insecurities from you Indy fans. Maybe its because they know we have 3 Superbowls and have the greatest QB that has ever lived playing in Foxboro.

I can go on, but I think I'll sit back relax and watch my Patriots Superbowl DVDS and 21 game winning streak dvd. Actually I think I'll watch Pittsburgh disrespectfully run up the score on the Ravens (Real Classy) I can't wait to hear Mark Sclereth comment on this one later. Didn't he play for the Bronco's who broke the salary cap rules?

By the way Mangini should spend less time on the tanning bed and more time breaking down game film. If its too much for him maybe he should go back to being the DB's coach.

The Steelers have pulled their starters against Cleveland, Buffalo, and San Fran. Tonight might be different because of what Baltimore did to the Steelers last year. Pats fans can get bent about it, but there is a big difference between what the Steelers are doing tonight and what the Pats did against the 'Skins.

I'm betting the Pats don't see that difference.

Hey slick - read the thread, it has been fans of other teams who has brought this up. Reading is good, try it.

I also love how Colts fans can talk up their physical defense. That you are Colts, very physical and have a great safety in Sanders. Pats were a real physical team a few years ago and then the Colts front office complained to the league and got their way.

So just because the Colts had the league look into how the secondary should be able to play WRs, the Colts fans shouldn't be able to be a tiny bit happy about having a more physical defense

You do realize that the rule change applies to every team in the league don't you?

:lol 2007 Pats offense should be thanking the Colts with the rule change.

There were questionable calls and it was ridiculous. Its as frustrating as trying to watch a basketball game and putting up with a foul call every other possesion.

I'm speaking in general after listening to people call up sports radio with nonsense and I'm letting it out. I took the lost last year and was happy for Dungy to win the big one and moved on. I'm bitching about Colts fans bitching about being down a man or two and it got me on a roll. Nothing was directed to anyone in this thread specifically.

The Patriots keep the starters in until the end because they are 1. going for an undefeated record, and well, the Steelers can't say the same, and 2. they had to prepare to play all 4 quarters up to this point because of the indy game. Can you imagine how horrible it could have been if Tommy only played 3 quarters? Also, Tom Brady was taken out when the score was run up against Miami, but Cassel allowed 3 TDs, so he was put back in. Also, Brady was pulled at the end of the Washington game....

...and Ben was pulled because he has a hip injury, not because the score is so crazy and they are classy.

People seem to forget that Brady hasn't played all the way to the end of the game. Through the 4th? yes. The whole game? no.

To get us back into the spirit of the thread ......... Don Shula

"Don Shula, the coach of the only perfect season in NFL history, believes the Patriots (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/17) have a legitimate shot at running the table and joining his '72 Dolphins in going undefeated in the regular season and playoffs. But if they can pull it off, Shula insists the NFL needs to place an asterisk next to the Patriots (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/17) in the record books because Bill Belichick got caught cheating in the Spygate scandal. Shula admires the Patriots (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/17)' team, but then, without being asked, he said Spygate negatively impacts the way they should be perceived this season. "The Spygate thing has diminished what they've accomplished. You would hate to have that attached to your accomplishments. They've got it," Shula told the Daily News. "Belichick was fined $500,000, the team was fined $250,00 and they lost a first-round draft choice. That tells you the seriousness or significance of what they found."

But to imply that the Pats' achievements so far this year isn't on their own merits is preposterous.

Polamalu's interception being overturned after 10 minutes in the replay hood is the weirdest ref related thing I've ever seen. Then, of course, they put a greased ball in play so Bettis would fumble. That same ball got Tony Romo last year.

Polamalu's interception being overturned after 10 minutes in the replay hood is the weirdest ref related thing I've ever seen. Then, of course, they put a greased ball in play so Bettis would fumble. That same ball got Tony Romo last year.

:lol :lol

i dunno, the colts have gotten some VERY questionable calls go their way the last 2 times these teams have played. that roughing the passer with 2 minutes to go in the AFC championship game.....some of those pass interference calls this past week.

The NFL appoligized because the call against the Steelers was so blatantly wrong.

People are arguing judgement calls, and most people don't even know what they are seeing. There was an article last year in The Sporting News where they presented a group of fans with video of questionable calls, and the fans were always wrong. The head of officials then came in and explained the calls to them, and they still messed up similar calls the next time around.

Sometimes the refs make mistakes, but often TV completely misses the penalty, which causes people to go nuts.

Pats fans obviously forget the tuck rule call, which launched them to where they are now.

i agree with all of this. and i'm not even a pats or colts fan. nor do i hate either of them. i respect them both. however, when looking at some of those calls the past few years, i think the NFL wants certain teams to win. i'm not saying the games are fixed. but i am not eliminating the thought that refs play favorites to attempt to influence games.

People get things wrong in real life all the time, they are just lucky that it's not being filmed for the entire world to see. It's part of the game, the human element. I personally do not think that the refs are out to get the Pats. I believe what happens in the NFL is that the refs do get tougher on the better teams, but again, that's just part of the game. Every fan of every really good team has thought that the refs are out to get them. It's like the opposite of what happens in baseball. A "proven" pitcher will get more close strike calls his way than a younger "unproven" pitcher will. The better you are the more calls go you way, in baseball. Football I think is the opposite. The refs watch you closer, etc, so they see more. Just my opinion. Again though, it's just part of the game. Live with it.

The "good" Steelers have been the most impressive team in the NFL this year, but the "bad" Steelers managed to lose 2 games.

The Steelers are like the old Pats, with a little more star power, who just beat the shit out of people with a bunch of players only hardcore football people know about.

The Pats are better because they've yet to lose, but the gap is very very small.

but look at what he was doing without that core of WRs. It's obviously every qb's wet dream to have stallworth, welker and moss as your top 3

but when caldwell, gafney, et. al are your core and they still came a half (albeit they collapsed, and didn't run the ball near enough in the second half) away from another superbowl, it's pretty damn good.

All coaches used to wear suits, they are doing it as kind of a classic look.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

Then prove it.

Otherwise, you can't put an asterisk on it IMO.

They havent cheated since the Jets game in week 1 in the first half as far as you know, so fo ryou to put an asterisk on this season even though there are no more signs of cheating just tells me you are biased against New England...

I don't think there should be a * at year end but Spygate will still tarnish whatever the Pats may accomplish this year.

It was a light-hearted comment.

The coaches should be able to wear a suit if they want. It's professional. Belichek looks like a fucking beggar when he goes to work. That's ridiculous.

Tom Brady overdresses at post-game press conferences.

That's all I can bash the Pats about.

If I had his money, I'd want to look good too.

No one ever complained when Michael Jordan would step into a press conference in a $10,000 suit

Exactly, but since it's the Patriots, people look for anything they can find to bitch about.

It was already pathetic enough for people to complain about BB wears to games, and now it's about what Brady wears after the game?

My goodness, some people need to get a life.

I don't really care about Belicheck's wardrobe, but come on, he's the head coach of an NFL team. Can't he do a little better than a cut off hoodie and a $30 pair of dockers? :lol

The Pats still cheated no matter what other NFL teams did in the past. Just because other teams "cheated" doesn't mean it's ok. I realize you're the biggest homer in the world of sports but you gotta at least understand that.

I don't think there should be a * at year end but Spygate will still tarnish whatever the Pats may accomplish this year.

I'm the biggest homer? Are you serious? All I'm saying is that if the NFL feels the need to put the * at the end, then they need to go back and do it to everyone else who has.....for consistency.

I wasn't bringing up the past to make an excuse, I was just making the point that the Patriots are not the first to do shady stuff, nor will they be the last.

They got caught because a former coach knew what they were doing and ratted them out. Teams are always trying to get a leg-up. Mangini just got beat-down again by the Pats and was looking for some revenge imo.

:rolleyes Right, I was totally over-reacting. I was just pointing out that you should read before you speak.

Think what you want but the outcome, whatever it may be, will be tarnished. It has put a mark on this season. If they do go undefeated and years down the road when people recall the 2007 Pats season, Spygate and (HG)Harrison will be brought up in every conversation and debate. There is no escaping that. People will not look back and say, "Those Pats were an all round classy and respectable team."

Yes and yes. Just take a step back and look at yourself. Not saying it's a bad thing, it's just a blinder.

All I'm saying is that if the NFL feels the need to put the * at the end, then they need to go back and do it to everyone else who has.....for consistency.

Who in the NFL feels the need to put up the *? As stated previously, what happened in Game 1 has no real effect on the remaining season other than that hovering cloud of suspicion. Lord knows, they wouldn't be dumb enough to get caught twice so i'm sure they're more cautious about it now - it being cheating.

The Pats aren't the only team that cheats, it might just be that your team really sucks.

So there are a lot of people in beantown who look like beggars?

Beantown style is generally about 1. warmth, 2. comfort and 3. finding that balace of bundling up without sweating your ass off.

Good example: wearing long sleeve tee shirts with a scarf and mittens. Sometimes a coat is too sweat-worthy.

Cut off hoodies are popular up there for more reasons than "looking like belichick". Kids in my HS used to cut the sleeves 1/2 way off their sweatshirts all the time.
