I recently bought a martin 000x1....i was wondering if it's worth installing a pickup, i'd really like to plug this guitar into an amp.

K&K Trinity, uses a thinline and an outboard pre-amp, so no hole cutting.

Well, i dont know about dave, cause, really- who cares,
BUT,
if you don't have a pickup, then that usually means that your mic-ing your acoustic... ie, using a microphone to pick up what your playing. (which is very similar to what a pickup actually does)

Dave uses the Fishman Natural II.
It's what I have in my guitar. If you want a sharp sound with a lot of "cut" through a band, I definitely recommend this pickup.
However, its not GREAT for solo work. It's still good, but its not ideal. I recommend just getting a nice microphone like an sm57 and setting that up for when you play.

It's not worth putting a pickup (that will cost you between $50-$350) on a guitar that goes for only $500
