View Full Version : Coach any team... for one game... what team/venue?

I heard a coach asked this question earlier tonight (Billy Clyde) and obviously he said Rupp Arena coaching Kentucky.... got me thinking... what team would you coach, versus who, and at what venue... I'll open this to basketball and football... though I suspect (you wont get any different from me) it will all be a personal bias...
Me:
Basketball: Kentucky vs. Duke (Rupp Arena)
Football: Georgia vs. Auburn (Sanford Stadium; 7:30pm kickoff; 5 game of the season, both teams undefeated)

But in the end you are just playing in a high school gym without air conditioning. :)
UNC/Duke at the Dean Dome.

Without the high school gym part of it, that's what made playing in the old Boston Garden so special. It was a tremendous homecourt advantage to play there. And blue-collar Boston showed up in tanktops and sweating and the whole bit. I've never been to Cameron Indoor, but I have to imagine it's a bit of the same.
I do believe the place is a little odd. The camera nest, for one thing, is on the wrong side of the court :lol

There are no Cameron Crazies at the Dean Dome. That's the problem.

You could say that. Or you could say it's the most organized student section in collegiate sports. Either way, you don't get students more devoted than Cameron Crazies.

I know, I just hate Duke so I can't ever have an objective point of view when it comes to them. :lol

I'd coach:
New England Patriots V.s. Chicago Bears (Super Bowl XLIII)
St. Louis Cardinals V.s Chicago Cubs (Game 7 NLCS)
Detriot Pistons V.s. Chicago Bulls (Game 7 Eastern Conference Finals)
If my Chicago teams still can't win after I try to hand them victory, by being the worst coach in the history of any game. "What do you mean not starting Brady is a bad idea?" then it wasn't meant to be :( .

Must be nice to charge $40,000 a semester so that you can afford to put your students in a ring around the court.... if the state schools (UK, UNC, etc.) could afford to do that, they would (and it would be insane)... but they actually need that money to pay for other things...

I'd wanna coach the NE Patriots at Indy. But, new league rule: The coach has to also play the center, and Tom Brady's ass must be touched before the next play by said center.

He is meaning they can afford to sit the students close to the court.
Other schools have to let their big boosters get first dibs because they pretty much support the program.

or they don't charge anyone because they don't have to because they jack ALL students in tuition prices, no matter how fast you can run the 40.....
