Thank you for capturing this and uploading it.

HOWEVER, I believe this recording had to have been recorded while not-knowing the lower-quality webcast setting was selected. I started recording the webcast at the lower-quality setting and realized it during the intro to Two Step then switched to the higher, 700K setting. I started the recording on my PC with Blaze Media Pro. However, I had to go somewhere and when I got back I found out, to my dismay, that Comcast dropped my connection so I had missed from the middle of Dreamgirl to the middle of Ants Marching. :(

Anyway, I compared my recording of the songs that DID get recorded, to this recording's flac's and mine is DEFINITELY crisper and cleaner with less "tinny" sounds. (put it this way, an MP3 from mine would sound better than the flac's from this one. NO OFFENSE TO THE TAPER.)

So, my explanation leads me to this question... did anyone else capture this webcast on the higher quality setting? If it WAS recorded on the higher-quality setting then there's something majorly wrong with the "Freecorder" that was used. (AGAIN...NO OFFENSE, I just want to make sure a good semi-sbd quality version of this show gets distributed.) :o :o

Again, thank you so much for taking the time for compiling this together and putting it up.

I have actually been wondering the same things lately and this is what I have discovered.

While the video was playing, for both nights, I found that I could get the player to show what exactly the website was outputing at (audio/video type and quality).

The first night the video was playing at about something like 448x252 resolution at 500K bit rate using windows media video. The audio the first night was outputting using windows media audio, at a pitiful 48kb/sec as well as 16-bit at 44.1 khz.

I guess, as some of us noticed, that somebody realized how bad that quality was and turned it up the second night which was as follows:

448x252 resolution again but this time at 700k bit rate. The audio also got turned up a bit, not great but better at 96kb/sec, 16-bit, 44.1khz.

I recorded it also and since this is what they were outputing at, this is exactly what I encoded it at. So, technically speaking if anyone encoded it at a sound file greater that what the equivilant to a .wma file at the respectful formats per night, it really is just useless file information for sound that isn't there.

The first night comes to only 53.4 MB where the second one, with the slightly better quality, comes to 102 MB. I suppose if you would like the files that I have you can PM me and we can do email or something (the file sizes for each song are so small that email or other basic file sending tool will work no problem). I also edited Louisiana Bayou, due to the clitch that everyone recieved, and now it sounds seemless. I myself am also going to check out the tapers versions because even though they are not a direct recording from the microphones, they are very uncompressed.

Also, I realize that this may be the wrong place to post this, though I am trying to help the previous poster, so if I need to delete this and move it somewhere else that is perfectly fine, just let me know.

Thanks again for posting the webcast here.

Im sure this is a ridiculous question, but whatever, ill ask it. are live shows seriously about a gig? should i be compressing these somehow after i DL them? I have a couple shows I like, but theyre taking up a lot of space. I guess I understand, but I just thought Id ask.
