Hey, if the Steelers lose to New England I will seriously start a thread that says "I have to have a _______ avatar for the next week".
No if the steelers loos I will start that thread. (thats me saying that).
So one of us will be sporting a avatar for a week. It has to to be somethign that deals with the game. If the steelers win. I have a great great Idea. __________________

this is kind of relevant to the Patriots.......but as an eagles fan (and not a fan of mcnabb), does anyone else think the reason he's probably not going to play is because we are going to get smoked and mcnabb doesn't want to get criticized?

No, because professional athletes don't worry about that.
But hey, even if McNabb plays, the Eagles will still lose by 28+ points and it won't be all McNabb's fault.
IMO, McNabb catches too much flack as it is. Yes, he's been subpar this year, but many Eagles fans need to get real -- the TEAM just isn't that good. They're an 8-8 team even with a healthy McNabb.

most don't........but mcnabb has continously complained about criticism ever since we drafted him over ricky williams.
and trust me, i know the eagles aren't good.

The Eagles are good the play calling is not. With A.J. in there I think they have a better chance to win, ball control, spin the clock keep the ball out of Bradys hands. The problem Ried has is he calls too many passing plays with McNabb in there, I dont care how good you think your QB is you have to support him with a running game.

the thing is, they have a great running game. they just never use it. i remember one time last year, it was first and goal at like the 2. they tried to pass 3 straight plays.....they ended up settling for a field goal. after the game a reporter asked big red about that situation, and why they didnt use westbrook. reid said something like "we don't really have any plays designed for brian to get 2 yards." :confused
and to take your statement about us having more of a chance with AJ, i think you're right. but not this week. unless we can somehow use peyton manning.....

I agree- We had a discussion about this subject this afternoon at work. He did the whole "I'm hurt" thing a few years ago to get out of another game becuase he didn't want to hear the criticism or get fingers pointed at him that it was his fault they lost.
I am not a McNabb fan either, just an overall Eagles fan.
AJ Feely has not started a game since 2004. I say put in the Rookie, what do we have to lose? IMO, It was really dumba$$ to get rid of Garcia....Tampa Bay is what, 6-4 and over 500? Hmmm.
We will just have to wait and see...I'll be ready with my chips and dip at 8:15 sharp tomorrow!

we won't put in the rookie unless things get much worse. the eagles' front office does not want to hurt mcnabb's feelings and have more criticism brought upon him. it's unfortunate that that is the case.

starting a rookie against the Pats might be one of the dumbest football moves you could do.

i heard from a reliable source that, after last season, mgmt decided that if mcnabb does not lead this team deep into the play-offs within the next 2 years, then he's gone. with how often he's been hurt, i wouldn't be surprised to see him gone after this year. and i mcnabb's market valuu should be low. no one wants to play with a whiny bitch.

they should trade him for a very good reciever and begin to build with our rookie

the TEAM just isn't that good. They're an 8-8 team even with a healthy McNabb.
And they are giving the Pats a run for their money with a healthy AJ Feely.

If the Pats lose it ain't gonna mean a thing. It just shows that they are not perfect, but they're still the best team.

:thumbsup They would still be the best team, but it would be a confidence boost for other teams to see that they're not invincible.

Hell yah, it'd be great to see them lose and it'll display the Pats weaknesses but ..... they'd still be the best team.
One game won't change that.
