Trying to educate myself on how to download using torrents. I know I have to tell the tracker my ip address. I also have to open up ports 6881-6889. What are the security risks, if any, of using bit torrent to download? I'm also concerned about giving out my ip address. I know about computers and networking but not enough to even know what the real threats are if I start downloading. Help! I really do want to get some DMB shows.......thank you!

i have been here for almost a year now and been using torrents just as long. i download from here and several other sites for various torrents. thus far i have had no major problems have had some minor ones. (i must say though my small problems have not been from this site) i have not had any problems here at ants outside of seeding/downloading to slow. just be careful if you download torrents from other places:D

you should not have any security threats from this site or dreamingtree either.


Some of the larger illegal software sites, you should be a bit more careful with, though.
