If by Run While We Can you mean the 8-13-05 soundcheck that was long believed to be Run While You Can, then yes. If you are talking about that snoozefest of a song that we heard at Vegas, then hell no.

yea, i was a little surprised, it was way more mellow than i was expecting frmo the soundcheck from a few years ago. still decent, but i liked the energy from the earlier one. not bad though.

I remember the first time I heard this song.

Back at home, I dated a girl for three years....we broke up, she got a new boyfriend...but always wanted to "see" me. We were at a party this summer, she said she was to drunk to go home...So I took her to the ol' basement room of mine back home.

Put the song on repeat, Yadda Yadda Yadda.

I will always remember this lovely diddy.

I almost hope that the band has been playing us for the last year or two and this is what i mean........they played cornbread, 27, shotgun and the other new ones so much they are almost like regulars for fans because we have heard them a ton. I would actually like if they ended up taking songs like falling off the roof or run while we can, that we've heard samples of really, and put stuff like that on the album so its not stuff we have been listening to for two years or more.

This song has a nice groove but i feel like it doesnt really go anywhere musically... it is just kinda blah... like Stolen away would be good ifthey broke up the monotomy with a bridge or something... the same shit over and over again sucks....

I definitely agree with you on this... i was at toyota for falling of the roof and it really seemed like a cool little song, especially if the rest of the band can be worked into it well

I liked the chorus, going by the vegas soundcheck the rest was pretty rough. If they could build off that chorus, sure why not, I wouldn't mind seeing it.

It's alright, but I'd much rather see the 8.11.05 soundcheck worked into a song. It sounds a lot like minarets and I love it!

Im not holding my breath for any of these on the new album. Because like for Stand Up, my favorite songs from the '04 tour got chopped and the ones that got released were butchered!!!!

it because its really hard to pick out what dave is saying. at first listen, the extra sylables aren't noticed. someone told me he says "right where all the trouble began" but when listening to the clearer spots, all you hear is "righ whe-all rou gan" which becomes "run while you can".

you have to really listen closely to hear the quieter parts, which would be the rest of the words he actually says.

Probably because RWWC also existed around the same time and people knew about it. It's not as new as the Vegas soundcheck, it got some soundchecks in 06 too.

i heard it at Chula Vista in 2006. i thought it was more funky, but thats probably becuase i didnt hear boyd and butch. just stefan and carter.

I have no idea about the names either. It's baffling how these two songs have been given such close labels, and which is which is completely beyond me. But i like what i hear :)

but at Vegas I definently heard "run while we can" in there many times.

well the vegas one is definetly what we know as Run While We Can

but that other one in 2005 thats listed as RWWC is completley diffrent musically and lyrically from what we can tell

Yeah and recently a fan got Stefan to post that youtube video on his facebook, so hopefully he saw it and realized its fantastic.

I HATE THIS SONG more than Can't Stop... It sounds like a rip-off of John Mayer's last album, and that's being nice... (if that's possible)...

All right, maybe a little harsh, I do like the speed up w/ Carter about halfway in, but that's it...

im pretty sure all that will come of the sbc soundcheck thing is that sweet ass drum riff that carter uses at the end of dreaming tree now. the vegas thing is sick...wish theyd play it

they should just stop making albums...and every summer tour have 3-5 new songs they play mixed in with everything else theyve ever done...then from year to year keep playing the songs they like and shit can the others.

or just make an album with a dream so real and nothing else.

I'm fairly convinced anything DMB comes up with these days will come across as "cheese." Besides, you can't freaking even hear the exact lyrics. How can you condemn the song?

I personally think RWWC is a beautifully chill song, at least from what we can hear from the youtube vid

To be honest, I'd like to see both Run While You Can and the SBC soundcheck song worked into something album-worthy. These songs have a good base to work from. Falling Off The Roof, Kill The King, and even a Dream So Real never had that.

The 8.11.05 is in no way, shape or form Run While You Can. I hope people aren't voting for it thinking that it's that song.

But Run While You Can is a horrible song. The lyrics are cheesy "Lets make ittttttt, lets run while we can." this song sounds like it was a Stand Up B-side. But I hear Rob is a demanding producer, no way he lets this crap song on the album.

Plus I think we can all agree, DMB has over an album worth of songs that are unreleased. If you took the best of those songs, RWWC wouldn't make the cut. So why would people want it? It get overplayed and be the new dream girl. With quality songs though, people don't say "Oh no here comes Seek Up... Oh god not another Shotgun."

Yeah, a B-side would be good for Run While You Can. It's got a pretty solid foundation, but it needs to be tightened a little more. Certainly not terrible, though.

The SBC soundcheck, however, sounds absolutely stunning, even if you can't really understand a single lyric. That tune could be an absolute goliath if the band puts some work into it but keeps the original foundation intact.

I love the SBC 05 soundcheck clip, but I also have some mixed feelings. It sounds almost identical to Dreaming Tree, especially the drumming. It has a very BTCS vibe to it, which is both magnificent while at the same time sort of... been there, done that...

I assume I'm in the minority, but those are my thoughts

I like it. I think it needs a little work but the sound was there for sure. I hope they can get it on there. Falling Off the Roof I liked as well but RWYC I like more.

I don't really see how people can truly like this song. We've never even heard a remotley decent sounding recording and it's essentially all speculation.

One song I really hope doesn't make the album is FOTR. That song was garbage and I think DMB realized it by only playing it once.

i agree with the fact that the 2005 sbc clip sounds like a dreaming tree jam almost...i mean theyre just jamming i think...nothing of any substance or no way itll be on the album...but id still love it !!!!
