I know everyone has their favorite old songs. But how many "old songs" do you want to see on the new album? I don't want to see more than 2 or 3. Don't get me wrong the old songs are fine but since DMB is typically better live anyway, I feel like its better to have new songs that are better live than a cd full of (and we could fill an entire double cd with old songs) previously performed live songs that are typically worse than their live counterparts.

Granted this approach didn't work for Stand Up and a lot of people like road testing the songs but if there are too many "old" songs on the new album, is it really new?

That being said, assuming there are 11 tracks on the album, what do you want the distribution of new to old songs to be and which old songs do you want on the album?

Edit: I voted for 8:3 I would like to see Cornbread, Shotgun, and one other "old" song. Maybe Eh Hee although we already have a studio version.

I said 5:6 because I wanted to allow room for Shotgun, Cornbread, #27, Idea of You, and perhaps an '04 song :hump

Sure having a bunch of "old" songs will mean we have a smaller pool of brand new live songs, but it also means regular play for these "older" songs.......i don't like the thought of parting with Shotgun for a gamble on brand new, unroadtested tunes

I voted 10:1, but I didn't read your post first and see that "old" meant "06/7 included".

I meant 5:6.

I remember people saying they wanted all new songs before the SU sessions. Be careful what you wish for.

Yes. We should all qualify our statements with "New songs that don't lick hairy donkey balls"
