Studio Litho in Seattle. I have been meaning to snoop around a bit but have heard conflicting reports on exactly where the studio is? If anyone knows and wants to share shoot me a PM.

He just owns a house here. I don't think you can say someone like Dave actually lives here. He also goes to S. Africa for some period of time every year. But for a real easy answer to your question... Seattle is Awesome!

I hear it is beautiful out there...

Dave aside, what is the local music scene like out there? Still grunge or what?

Empyrean421
03-22-2008, 02:45 AM
The music Scene isn't very specific like it was in the 90's. Seattle is a must for any west coast bands so we get a lot of Cali bands making it big up here. Its very diverse thats for sure. We have quite a few awesome venues though. Our symphony hall is awesome and a gem to see any good band in. Dave did a solo acoustic show there a few years ago. Download the show if you haven't heard it. It's really amazing. The Showbox is a Local favorite. I saw Xavier Rudd there last year and it was such an awesome show. There is always a live show to see. Never get bored of the scene thats for sure.

And if there's not clouds in the sky yes it's beautiful. It's awesome to wake up in the shadow of Mt. Rainier every day.

Our traffic's getting bad though. To many people moved here to fast.

On a side note to this with the band being in seattle to record do you think some of the band might pop up at the Dave and Tim show. I don't think that they would play with them it is not that type of concert. But do you think any of they would show up just to watch the concert or to see the Dali Lama?

And yes, Dave LIVES in Seattle - his daughters are in school here and his wife works.

YEah the local music scene is as big as its ever been. More diversity in musical style has come with the booming population ever evolving aura around the city.

I've lived in Seattle for 4 months and I don't think I will ever want to leave. I love everything about this place.

Dave really is a modest guy. His house is nothing special. I saw the twins running down the sidewalk the other day. They are so cute.

I wish I could see the boys walkin about too. Too bad, I don't know where to look. I met Stefan, Boyd, and Rashawn last year in Pittsburgh. That was cool.....

I would love to run into Stefan again and of course Dave. I saw the twins a couple of weeks ago because my friend and I were in Dave's area and she said she tried to buy a house around there last year but was outbidded. I asked her to show me the house and sure enough it was literally down the street from Dave. She had no idea when she was going trying to buy it. She's not a crazy fan like the rest of us.

So anyways, that's when the twins came running down the street with some guy walking up behind them. I don't think it was Dave but for all I know it could of been. He had a hat and sunglasses on. I'm pretty sure it wasn't him but my mind keeps messing with me. :freak

We get on average 36" a year. Which isn't that much. The clouds just hang around for days to weeks at a time and rains tiny bits all day. We get long preiods of drizzles... Thats why people say it rains a lot.

Yep, I am going to D&T. The weather here is much milder than the mid-atlantic. If you are from around that area then you will be used to the overcast skies. I love it here and wish I would of been here for school. I hope you enjoy your visit!

I'll take a rainy winter anyday over the bitter cold of Pittsburgh in January. Brrrr. Also, it gets to hot and humid in the Summertime in Pitt. I think the weather is Seattle's best kept secret.

The Olympic Peninsula contains a rain forest. The reason the Puget sound get rain like it does is because its in the Cascade Mountains rain shadow. When the clouds hit the Cascades they have to dump to get over them.

Pennsylvania sucks??

1- we should be known as "The Pothole State". i think we might have more potholes than squirrles. now thats a lot of potholes.

2- our 4 seasons of the year are: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, Road Construction

3- the weather sucks. its either hot and humid and you feel like you are going to melt, or you freeze your ass off. the most amazing thing is they can both happen on the same day.

4- we're stuck close to jersey. i think one speaks for itself.

5- we're being overrun with mexicans and 7-11 indians.

While I completely agree with the first four statements, #5 is completely ignorant and another reason why I left Pittsburgh. If that is the way you feel about people who are different from yourself then please stay far, far away from Seattle. It is very diverse here and, for the most part, ignorance is not tolerated.

I apologize to any Ants on this board of Mexican or Indian decent for this person's intolerance.

Rain - what rain?
Clouds - lets just say there are times in the winter when a trip to Arizona is definately needed. So just plan on a sunny excursion every Jan/Feb and you'll be great. Summers here are pure bliss.

Xavier played two shows here last year the one at the Showbox and the one at Neumos. I liked the one at Neumos better it was more fun I thought. Both great though. As far as Seattle being a native I am biased. I lived in LA for ten years and have spen alot of time in NY. Seattle is still tops for me. Weather is not as bad as people make it out to be.

i understand what was being said though. i guess seattle wouldn't be considered the capitol of racial diversity by any means. however, seattle is the most receptive (that i have seen) of cultures, lifestyle, religious ideas, etc.

i understand what was being said though. i guess seattle wouldn't be considered the capitol of racial diversity by any means. however, seattle is the most receptive (that i have seen) of cultures, lifestyle, religious ideas, etc.

of course i am talking strickly about the city of seattle and not necessarily the greater puget sound area (like tacoma for instance...and puyallup...uhgg, puyallup :shrug)
agreed, have been all across this county, for various reasons. and i will agree 100% with you on that

Welcome to the majority of threads on ants! Hate to burst your bubble, but a lot of threads here tend to move off topic.

with the D+T show there this past week, I would think that they've been up there working. they're going to have to take some time off when Dave is out in Hawaii playing, and then the tour is going to be right around the corner. i'm sure they'll take some time off before the start of that. so i would think that with only a few weeks of possible work left before the tour, they would have been doing some stuff lately.

I think you're right! They'll be full steam ahead for these last few weeks before the tour.

Sorry to bug you about the location. I honestly don't expect you to give out directions.

If anybody cares to see where Dave lives, it's on freakin' local.live.com

I PM'ed you Kyle. I apologize for doing so.

Carter and Boyd are in Cville says TDC.

I don't get all of the purple references for Dave's house. Exactly what about it is purple?
