Stepping Feet drove up the Cal coast to San Fran to perform at a private party in the Presidio about a month ago. One of the "special guest appearances" was none other than John Popper. What a great guy! He sat in with us for about 8 songs including "Runaround". Sorry the footage isn't that great, but there's no mistaking John Popper's playing.
Enjoy fellow Ants & musicians.

I am the singer/guitarist for the DMB Tribute... Stepping Feet. I sing harmony and lead guitar for Misdirection and I am also working on my own tunes. I grew up playing metal guitar. Oddly, Adam Aijala (Yonder Mountain String Band) and I grew up together (same HS) playing Hendrix and Metallica. Both of us mainly play acoustic now. When I was in college my brother and I also jammed with Mike from Killswitch Engage prior to that band forming.

Guitars:
Taylor 714CE
Taylor T5
Taylor 355
Gibson Les Paul Studio (for when I play heavier stuff)
I split my signal with an A/B switch to the PA where use a Vox AV15 for light distortion on one side (DIDO, Too Much, Stand Up, etc) and I run through a few boss pedals and go directly to the PA for the other. (Tuner, EQ, Chorus, Blues Driver, Delay)

Wow thats awesome. I would be interested in hearing your original stuff. Have you always played Taylors? I have a 214E. When did you get the T5? those things look awesome and I haven't played on one yet or anything. And how does it compare to a Les Paul? they at least look similar

I need to fix my ProTools/Mbox that I just upgraded. Once that's done, I'll post some original stuff once that gets taken care of. I started out playing a Martin but traded up to a Taylor 714CE with a Cedar top. I picked up the T5 since it plays like a Chet Atkins. It has a fantastic acoustic sound and it's a lot easier to play Warehouse, Satellite, The Stone, and it's great on Too Much & DIDO when you add distortion.
The Les Paul is a great rock guitar... nice and beefy. The T5 is totally on the other side of the spectrum. It has a hollow body sound but some of the pick up settings allow for overdrive. An American Strat with Humbucker Pickups would be a good "in between" guitar that gives you a lot of flexibility. What style of music do you like other than DMB?

Lets see. I usually listen to Phish, the Grateful dead, SRV, Hendrix, Cream, Allman Bros or jazz for soloing purposes . I listen to a lot of Jack Johnson, Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Bob Marley. Thats it mostly... I was actually thinking of the new solid body Taylors when I was asking about the T5, lol. do you know how do the T5's compare to ovations?

I haven't played the Ovation so I couldn't tell you. Luckily, the Taylor factory is a short drive from my house and I know some folks there. Wish they'd throw me a discount. :)
