I would love to see this show up after some silence after the last song on the record. It would be nice. It should stay a small little song just for August. It is short though, so maybe it would fit better on Jack Johnson's next album.

just save it for his solo album, if its going to be an any album.
and a hidden track isn't going to make this album better. the track could still suck and then you'd wish they didn't add it. it only worked for UTTAD because #34 is a good track.
on a side note, i'd love to hear them just play some jams they did in the studio. not as part of the album, but maybe like an extras/b-side cd.

I'm not saying hidden track as a gimmick or anything. I find extra tracks at the end of cd's to be nice little additions.
I didn't say it would make the album better. We don't know what the album is. Don't be so hostile.

everybody seems to want 3 things on this album
1- between track jams- why? because BTCS had them and they were good
2- a song (shotgun) being reprised - why? because The Last Stop had a reprise and it was good
3- hidden tracks - why? because UTTAD had #34 as a hidden track and it was good.
the thing about all 3 of these is that if the jams or songs were bad songs, like if they did them on Stand Up, nobody would want them. but everyone seems to believe that if the album has these things on it, it will be good, but they don't understand that they are only good because they used good songs for them.

ive been thinking about this for a while and i couldnt have said it any more clearer.

how about the band creatively comes up with NEW ways to make this album great?
the reason those jams fit on btcs was because they were dialed in and figured out their vision for the album - that fit. they took their vision and fleshed it out.
hopefully that's what they're currently doing. taking all of the new material, internalizing it, and coming up with something unique that stands alone in comparison to other works.

I don't like hidden tracks because that makes things in iTunes that much harder.
and #34 was far from hidden. It was listed, just put on the CD as track 34.

I agree 100%...I don't really want to see another BTCS or UTTAD because the band is beyond that stage ya know? Now I DO want to see an alubm of that calibur, but the same sound? Def. not. I think that's what alot of people are looking for and they are going to be quite disappointed.
And on the subject of Round & Round, I love the song and I think it'd be a nice little addition onto the end. I agree with the OP
Also, to whoever said a B-Side CD, best idea I've heard, along with the Double Disc idea. Just a cool album with some random ass jams, maybe they just stop abruptly and don't go anywhere. It's just nice to see where the creativity starts I think.
All my opinion of course.

This is correct. Not a hidden track. You just had to wait to get to it.

you're incorrect...#34 was not officially listed on the cd booklet as the 34th track.
it's a hidden track, simple as that.

It was listen on the CD booklet as a track no. 12. Then tracks 12-33 were 0.001 second long and there was a track no. 34 - #34.

I am fine with a hidden track, but I hate when it is like 12 minutes of silence then the song and you need to edit out the silence and all this nonsense.

Seriously, hidden tracks really are stupid...why not just include it with the regular tracklisting?

well a suggestion for something new would be one continuous album. they could definitely do it. be creative. i am cool with tracks stopping short like when the world ends. i just want a non stop continuous statement where alot of time and thought was put into the track order and list. like i said before i will take an album of 8-9-10 tracks if they are all stellar and a few jammed out. i always go back to Dark Side of the Moon. Dmb can do that.
They should get jay bennett to contribute ideas. i love wilco's summerteeth and yankee hotel fox trot. don't think he produced those but he had a hell of alot to do with the flow and ideas.
