While browsing YouTube, I decided to watch the Stand Up behind the scenes video and I noticed something interesting at 1:10
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtDydzCurF8
This may already be common knowledge, but that sounds suspiciously like the Run While You Can soundcheck to me.

I searched the forums and didn't see anything on this so I figured I'd bring it up for discussion. My guess is that Run While You Can emerged during the Stand Up sessions as a small jam and then grew afterwards. I like the song, and I think it's extremely relaxing. It would be cool to see them fool around with it during these sessions

That sounds like an amazing song!
Have they ever played that song in concert or just soundchecks?

Never have this seen this video.
1. Stefan loves Stand Up so much??
2. Boyd said "..most complete album we've ever done."
3. Dave does seem to be a perfectionist...NOT
4. I hate Dreamgirl much much more now.
5. I hope they make the new album 1000000 times better.

I like 4:44 - 4:48 part. Sounds a little like a Busted Stuff (song) kind of song.

I'm pretty sure that it's not Run While You Can. I don't make that connection at all with the two.

This is why people need to chill with regards to the video yesterday. These videos are marketing tools that are used to get people excited for the new product.
It does not mean, as a fact, Boyd thinks this is the most complete album ever.

Yesterdays video had nothing to do with a complete product or what they felt they were doing. It was all our perception of the music and the work environment

But Dave said TWO STEP!?!!!?!
but seriously, my excitement is guarded, and grounded, but there's no way to hide all the positives you can find in that video (leroi's excitement especially - he hated stand up (or at least the effort involved with it)

I should have clarified which part of RWYC I was talking about. Listen to the soundcheck again, but pay close attention starting at 4:14 and beyond. The Stand Up video is a faster tempo version of the soundcheck, and hence, shittier, but I still think it's there.
I find the video hilarious. Everything they're saying is the exact opposite of what we think of the album. Carter's quote is priceless:
"And there was one song...I think it was Dreamgirl...that it just stands out, it's like a ballet almost"
I would choose some select words to describe Dreamgirl, but "ballet" isn't one of them
:twak
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought carter mentioned in an interview that Dreamgirl was one of his more recent favorites to play at shows.

not close. the song in the "stand up" clip is a 1-4-5 progression. run while we can is not.

dvalukis, just listen to what stefans playing and then to dave's vocal melody around the end of the soundcheck. certain parts match up just about perfectly.

i have to be honest! if this song is not on the album, they did something wrong, cause this can be a beautiful song with inspirational sax solos, the kind that touch your soul. anyone agree?

I listened to this soundcheck alot when it came out and thought it was great. hearing this again for the fiirst time in a few months... it sounds better than ever.
to me its a mix of Satellite, Stolen Away, and If I Had it All.
Let's Run While Weeeeee Caan
obviously the it needs some work from the soundcheck, but I'd love to hear this on a new album

Stefan inadvertantly leaked the LilyWhite Sessions.
Someone snuck into the soundcheck in Vegas last year and recorded this.
I doubt the crew would ever do that. Im sure theyre very well taken care of, and I doubt any of them would risk losing their jobs

/\ Hey just listen to dave's vocal melodies at the end of the vegas version. Certain parts match up just about identically.

I sent Stefan a message through Myspace and included the Youtube embed of this song. I also put in a good word in hopes that maybe they'd at least give it a listen. I'm not sure what the status of this song is but i figured I'd plant a seed.
It's saying that the message was read!

I really dig this song. I remember being at a bunch of shows in 2006 where they soundchecked it. It's odd that they soundchecked it so many times but never played it. Hopefully they play it some day.

Yeah I love it too, I love the whole vibe of that song. It's in no rush to do anything in 3 minutes. Hell, I'd have them jam that song out in the studio the same way they did in the soundcheck, nothing needs changing. I think sometimes they get in the studio and maybe overthink things.
On a side note, I just watched the BTCS promo video. I had never seen it before but it was an awesome 8 minutes and a really neat look into the creative process during the making of that album. I hope they are having a similar feel with the current sessions.

He doesn't say its the most complete album they've done. He says in the sense of storytelling within songs, it is the most complete. Not the album itself but the songs' content is what he is saying is complete (more so than other albums).

I'd like to hear this song on the next album. If not there than I'd at least like to hear it played live at some point. Just hearing the soundchecked version is enough for me to like the sound of it. Little something different but not so different that it doesn't sound like them.
