It seems not very sucessful compared to previous album. I like it a lot. Anyone else think it's good too?

Welcome to Ants :) This isnt really related to the new album, so prepared to be reamed out by less than 5% of the community who will decide to mouth their opinion like they represent the other 95%.

Next time just post in the DMB discussion forum.:thumbsup :thumbsup

Yeah this should probably be in DMBc, but I don't think it was unsuccessful, especially compared to most of the LT releases because this was a commercial release that you can pick up at Best Buy, etc.

Welcome to ants.

I'm convinced there are really only 2 types of people on these boards.

One group that shares the EXACT same sense of humor...
and another that either doesn't have it or doesn't get it.

piedmont park has been discussed relentlessly on these boards. there's no need to make another thread about it. especially in the album forum because it has nothing to do with the new album.

don't you people read anything when you join this site??

and use the fucking search. it's there for a reason.

when you come to these boards, your supposed to read the rules. the rules state if you have an opinion/question on a topic, you're supposed to use the search function. Before starting a new thread, you should make sure it's something that hasn't been talked about endlessly (which Piedmont has). Also, the thread this guy posted in is "2008 Album Discussion". Piedmont Park has nothing to do with the new album. (I guess you could say new songs like Cornbread and Eh Hee and #27 were played, but that's it). This obviously goes in DMBc. And it doesn't need a new thread. If he would have searched, he could have found everyone's opinions. And that's what your supposed to do. Search before making a thread.

I've said it before, but I really wish that you could hear the guitar in Eh Hee. On the DVD I see him playing, but I don't hear any noise coming out.

Dreaming Tree and #27 alone made this cd/dvd worth buying.

I usually only listen to Cornbread, YMDT, DDTW, and #27, to be quite honest. Boyd is so fucking loud/sqeaky and Roi is virtually nonexistent --- it's just kind of a bummer. I'm glad they released it so we could get soundboard quality versions of Cornbread and #27, but overall I thought it was a relatively weak show

with all the good things about ants, one of the most horrible and most akward things to use is the search feature, its difficult still for me to use and ive been here since 2000 (new screen name this year due to my rebirth of faith in dmb, actaully lost my old password)

The new album isn't coming out in 2008, so technically, he's on point with this one.

This release was not great by any means.

The band has butchered Grey Street beyond belief. I couldn't believe my ears when I listened to it for the first time.

Besides the bad mix, which isn't the bands fault, how bad do the horns sound? Anybody know why Leroi's sax sounds off in the intro? Or is that just Rashawn's trumpet? Leroi also skips one of the notes in the intro, causing it to lose all of its flow.

It bothers me beyond belief how bad Grey Street sounds nowadays.

I'm not one to complain about the bands actions, but Grey Street sounds horrid, and they need to fix it.

I actually love this release, OSW is great, I really get into that on the DVD. Two Step has the intro about his new son. Of course, Cornbread & #27 along with Dreaming Tree. Warehouse has the great intro and I have no problem with a Watchtower > Ants encore. You Might Die Trying is great on that release and so is the ending of DDTW. I like Melissa that night with Greg Allman while I find how they're playing it this tour is horrible. Warren Haynes tears it up on WWYS and I thought they did a great job with Bayou that night. I don't prefer Eh Hee full band and #40 as he plays it doesn't do much for me either. Anytime we can get a full show on DVD, I'm not gonna complain at all!

PP seemed like a repeat of Central Park to me. Same songs on these DVD's just get boring. I think I enjoy watching Weekend on the Rocks more than PP now. I will say Dreaming Tree gives me chills though. Plus anything with Warrens Haynes sounds Angelic.

hey, i have a legit question but i don't know if its been asked before.. when Dave says to the crowd something along the lines "maybe you'll get lucky... IF YOU ACT RIGHT!" (probably wrong with the first part, but he def says that last part lol..) what was the crowd asking them to play?? i really have no idea and i've just always wondered every time i listen to the album in my car.

Hey Katie,

It was Halloween. We talked to a guy after the show that told us about it. If you listen to the recording closely, you can kinda make out the Halloween chant.

I thought of putting this in the "stupid questions you are afraid to ask" thread, but this seems like a good place instead since it's about Piedmont. Probably everyone except me knows this :o .......

In Don't Drink The Water, Dave sings "yes I will call this _____?" (instead of "home") What is he saying please? And thank you.

I enjoy this DVD a lot, though I'm kind of a new fan and not making comparisons. Boyd should've double-checked his tuning before YMDT, just a titch. By the way, I saw a version of YMDT on YouTube, from a performance at West Point (not sure of date) that I thought was just great.

since he can't hit the falsetto of "home" anymore (at least not in a full-band setting), he just screams random sounds that somewhat resemble home.

so I can fill in my own blank :cool I kind of like that. I almost fancied I heard "grail."

Thanks for the response :)
