Lets keep this forum to Fantasy stuff only, and start some new threads, not topping ones from last year.
Enjoy
RULES for 2008 (by Jantz):
Until this is moved to the FT section - I want to get things started because I expect a HUGE turnout this tour.
This year the rules are going to change just a litttttle bit, to make it a bit more "Realisitc" in the Fantasy aspect, if that makes any sense at all.
The New Fantasy Team Aspect:
If you are familar with Fantasy Baseball, Football, Basketball, etc..etc.., than you know about positional picking (which will be a new aspect in this year's game).
In Fantasy Baseball owners are to choose: 1st Baseman, 2nd Baseman, Pitchers, OF’s, Closers, etc..etc.. so why not the same for our league? This year will require you to be a little bit more active, but it will show to be a lot more fairer on the scoring aspect and the actuality of it being a game rather than just a draft and watching your songs come up. Every league will have 10 players and each team will have 10 songs. This is quite the upgrade from last year’s 7, but watch how it will play out.
Each team is required to have in their “starting lineup”
Opener:
Set Song:
Set Song;

Encore Song:
Bench Song:

This system will help out with the “multiple night” stands the band is playing. You can change the position of your songs every night in your League's thread, just for varification purposes. If it is not changed an hour before show time the change does not count and you will be granted points on how your song lineup was the show before.
So you may ask now, “How does this work Jantz?”
Well, listen up.
Scoring For Your Songs:
Songs will no longer be rated by Groups, songs will have a price and each owner, having certain amount of money to work with - will be able to draft those songs.
For example:
All Along The Watchtower ($2 - 2 / 3 /4 / 4)
American Baby ($2 - 2 / 3 / 4 / 4)
American Baby Intro ( $1 - 1 / 1 / 2 / 3)
Ants Marching ($5 - 2 / 2 / 3 / 3)
Each team will have a certain amount to money to work with and they can purchase any song they want. The money value of the song is determine by the songs grouping - but players no longer have to select songs based on grouping. Songs that are more likely played often will be higher priced but less riskier when it comes to points. Let’s take Ants Marching for example:
It is : Ants Marching ($5 - 2 / 2 / 3 / 4)
It cost 5 of your Fantasy Dollars to spend to draft the song, but it is worth ( 2 points for being played / 2 points if placed in “Set Song” / 3 points if placed in “Opener / Closer / Encore” / 4 points if played with a guest.
So if for the night your team is:
Opener: Rapunzel
Set Song: Cornbread
Set Song: Sleep To Dream Her
Set Song: Lover Lay Down
Set Song: Jimi Thing
Closer: Tripping Billies
Encore: Ants Marching
If Ants Marching closed the set - you would receive 2 points for the song being played. If Ants Marching opened the set, you would receive 2 points for the song being played. If Ants Marching was featured in the Encore you would receive 3 points for proper placement. If Ants Marching was featured in the Encore w. Danny Barnes on Banjo you would receive a maximum of 4 points for the ultimate prize for that song.
Over the next few weeks me and hopefully others that will help me will determine proper money values and point values for all of the songs available in the DMB Fantasy League catalog. We will also determine how much money you will have to draft with and what would be the efficient and fair amount.
What about new songs?
Songs like: Shotgun, Cornbread, #27, Sweet Up and Down, The Idea of You, etc..etc.. will be pre-determined values that can be bought. For new songs we will have four new songs spots available for each league that a player can buy. They will most likely be the same values as the above mentioned songs. After these four new songs are bought we will assign new songs to players who had bought “New Song” options during the draft. No other picking up of new songs is allowed.
Trading Songs:
Songs can be traded up until midway through the tour. With this said, trades must be for the same money value. If you trade away a $5 song - you should receive anything that will equal $5 (ex: two $2 songs and a $1 song). Trades are to be brought up to the league commissioner.
Leagues and Participation:
We are doing the same leagues as last year - hopefully adding more leagues this year.
Here are the 10 returning leagues and their champions that will return to that league - everyone else will be placed into a league of my chosing. Let's get a BIG turnout this year.
League Bartender - Taparoo
League Busted Stuff - Bradshaw06
League Granny - ants_marching41
League Last Stop - seanieb
League Lover Lay Down - wingnut73
League Pig - Semper454
League Say Goodbye - TGaucho
League So Right - Martindcx1e
League Sweet Up and Down - Maya
League Two Step - boatchg
If you are a league winner, and will not be returning this year - please let me know.
This is not the full set of rules, I am going to expand on these a large amount - I am just introducing the new ideas to everyone and would appreciate some follow through to make this a near perfect system this year.
Please let me know below whether or not you will be playing this year.
