Just got in from the show. Show number 12 for me, number 1 for my Dad.
Torrential downpours and heavy winds around 4pm looked like they would damper the evening. But by 6pm, there wasn't a cloud in the sky.
Black Crowes were pretty good, they came on around 7:15 and played until 8 on the dot.
The DMB crew took a while to set things up, band came on around 8:35pm.
Old Dirt Hill: Baffling opener. Surprised the shit out of me, I didn't know what to say. Everyone around me was confused and didn't sing along.
Everyday: Crowd eats this up, would've been a better opener than ODH. My area didn't really get in on the "Hani Hani"
Die Trying: Good version. Tim had a great solo, so did Rashawn. Dave and Carter high-fived after it was over.
Eh Hee: Pretty standard. My area didn't know it so they were chatting about every other thing in the world.
Bartender: sounded great. I enjoyed it alot. Tim did some cool stuff and Roi had a great pennywhistle solo.
Grey Street: Roi had an awesome solo, he stole the show on this one. It sounds so much better without the organ.
Out of My Hands: Dave said he had a monkey with big red balls under the piano. I like the outro when Dave wails.
Nancies: I turned to my dad and told him he'd loved this. He did, Boyd was all over the place.
Typical Siutation: Didn't see this coming. It was awesome. Tim seemed lost at first, but got his solo time and ran with it. Great version.
Where Are You Going: I took a seat, nothing special here.
Crash into Me: good reaction from the crowd. Standard version.
Jimi Thing: crowd sang the FWIW outro, dave joined in on the last one. Good version, always have been a big fan of this song.
So Damn Lucky: I was excited to hear this. They really jam out the outro and it sounds great.
Rhyme and Reason: another great performance by Timmy - I fucking love this guy.
SMTS > TM: standard SMTS, anyone seen the bridge was great. Stefan was dancing all over the place. They shortened Too Much, but I enjoyed it.
Money: Very excited to hear this, was hoping for Money (Thats what i want) but oh well
Two Step: Heard this was the song of the tour this far and it was phenomenal. No better way to end a show right?
Ants: Holy shit. Direct intro, the place exploded. Extended boyd solo. No better way to end an show. Best encore of '08 thus far.
--Pretty good show. I'll probably post another review after Nissan tomorrow.

just got in also..too tired to post a review, it was my 11th, went with my dad, his first, so pretty similar to this guy ^
the only complaint i had with this show was the Old Dirt Hill opener..what the fuck...and there was somewhat of a lack of flow
gotta agree with dmband though, the encore absolutely blew me and everyone else in that place away. that is why i love the dave matthews band
oh and also dave dancing holding his guitar above his head during too much was hilarious

i was there too, two step had a newer jam than i had heard earlier this year and tim was AWESOME, for bartender roi really rocked it and was spot on for the first time in a few years and the outro is really worth hearing if its uploaded. first untruncated typical in a while. dunno y the homepage doesnt have ants on it, pretty disappointing cuz it was awesome. truly a better show than meets the eye. at the start i was like "what the fuck" with ODH, but the show picked up. I was at camden n2 last year, and i left this concert really debating which one was better. a damn good show to say the least

tonight's show was so much better than ppl are making it out to be. typical situation???!!!!! thats incredible!!!! and how bout that encore? everyone thought they were done after two step, and there's carter on the snare....place went nuts. and boyd did a long ass solo on ants....they did the whole 1...then 2....then 3 thing twice....then carter finally brought it back. r&r was incredible.....and dave dancing with the guitar above his head and shaking his ass was the funniest fucking thing.
not to mention he talked a shitload tonight....he even brought out a bottle of hershey's syrup and was like...."i love this shit....it's a little messy...ah who cares, fuck it!"
i think the boys love playing at hershey and they jammed for 3 hours tonight. one hell of a show for me at least....this was my 5th show, so take it for what it's worth.

is it me or was Dave doing the lawnmower during Tim's solo on Cornbread?
he was doing some kind of funny dance and it really looked like he was pulling his arm back like he was starting a lawnmower...random i know, but thats what it looked like

Dave did talk a lot tonight and it was pretty funny. He did talk about a monkey under his piano curtain with a big blue dick and red balls. ha ha I'll have to hear that back again.
I loved seeing Stefan's son and Dave girls dancing backstage, it was really sweet.
This show was just average for me - it was #56. We will see what Nissan brings.
Oh Black Crows did mostly new stuff, but they did play Remedy

yea thna he held out his guitar letting the crew know he needed a new one.
The dancing he did during too much with the guitar on his head was hysterical.

That was pretty funny. His crew guy was dancing back stage with Stella and Grace when that happened. He almost ran out to get the guitar without taking out the next one and had to run back and get one

Did anyone think they played Two Step faster than usual? And what i mean is, the "guitar strokes", ect. (i can't talk music). I was satisified with everything except ODH. So Damn Lucky is growing on me big time...Looked forward to maybe a DN---> Warehouse, but didn't happen. Boyd was phenominal in his extended outro in Ants. Dave was a maniac tonight too, running around the stage with his guitar above his head, talking about blue/red balls and a monkey, or playing some time of air guitar as if he was in metallica. Sat in Section 8...which held a decent crowd. My 12th show and i can say that i was happy when i left. they play their hearts out

Yeah... Too Much was hilarious! As stated, dave broke a string, held out his guitar for a minute waiting for a new one, continuing to sing.... when he got his new guitar he lost track of where he was in the song, and botched Roi's breakdown... so he just held the guitar above his head and did a lil booty dance.
This show was great... Right around Nancies the crowd just got super into it and the band reacted... BEST ENCORE EVER.

I was disappointed with this, I love this old-school breakdown compared to that slowdown egyptian style shit from last summer.

Old Dirt Hill: shook my head.
Everyday: afain shook my head.
Die Trying: alright I can get into the show.
Eh Hee: pretty good for the frsit time seeing it, Tim fills the gap from last year but still isnt anywhere near Cornbread.
Bartender: was pumped for this. People dont know Roi used his oboe again not to mention his penny whistle and Rashawn took out a Trombone towards the end.
Grey Street: this song never gets old, and bartender and this quickly made me forget about the first 2.
Out of My Hands: good song, good live, its a much needed break for the band.
Dancing Nancies: amazing.
Typical Siutation: Only person around me that new it wasnt Seek Up and I couldnt believe it, Tim OWNED it... simply amazing.
Where Are You Going: The 3rd song I didnt enjoy, I said right after "Why couldnt they play Crash instead"
Crash into Me: surprised coming right after WAYG, sounds sooo much better with Tim.
Jimi Thing: Again band tore it up along with Tim, Roi was amazing tonight.
So Damn Lucky: Daves wailing is great at the end.
Rhyme and Reason: Thought this was a closer, real tight once again.
SMTS > TM: SMTS is always fun, Stefan was really into the bridge tonight unlike Darien, and Too Much is just a monster this year, even when Dave holds his guitar above his head and shakes his ass at you the whole time.
Money: Third time seeing this, it gets better everytime.
Two Step: Didnt want to hear it at first since I hear it everyshow, but by the end Im always loving it and they tore it up, and thought it was over when....
Ants: Holy shit a segue into Ants? you got to be kidding me as I recieve my text from ants stating the set that doesnt include it :lol , obviously someone assumed it was over as well.
Sure the first 2 songs were terrible, but I dont give a fuck....the set ended up being amazing and the bands performance matched that, great show.
And at the end, Carter threw a drumstick that went through everyones hands, including mine and my friends and me diving on the ground knocking chairs over, frantically trying to find it on the ground with this other kid, we have no idea where it went, who has it, and when they found it but all I know is im pissed that I didnt get it :lol and that I busted my knee up for no reason. ;)
Overall, great night, great show.
keynotes: Trombone used by Rashawn on Bartender, pennywhistle and oboe by Roi. Also the band didnt stop playing untill 11:30, 3 hour show, and Ants closed not two step.

one of the best shows i have been to...and you have to take in to account that the weather set them back. the LED video screens that where on the sides and the one that has been out front and moves up and down didn't work. they had trouble all night with Dave's guitar not working. then Stefan's base wouldn't work on money....the Two step intro summed up the technical problems perfectly tonight. the band could have gave up on that show at Grey Street when 2 of Daves guitars would not work..... but the band kept on bringing it and the fans did too! just a few other notes typical did not have the instrumental intro it went directly in to the 1st verse. ants was not a direct intro they just started it directly after two step and the outro was played twice because boys was tearing it up. Two steps jamb was quit bit different but very explosive. the "new" ODH is an improvement over the old full band versions. its more of a D&T style.

I also loved Dave talking about how we cannot allow the can of hershey syrup to become extinct like dodo birds and dinosaurs, so we should buy cans even though their messy.
He used this for a pretty funny nancies intro, saying something about sticky fingers over and over again.

Don't know if it's been said but Tim played Dave's part on Grey St. instead of doing his usual fills. I wasn't a huge fan of it but it was interesting to hear them mix it up.
