It's a pretty bad day when you have more fun tailgating than enjoying the show, but that's what happened last night. It was not a great setlist, other than a surprise "Sledgehammer". When your cover song is the toast of the show, it hasn't been a good night. Whomever is in charge of the sound system at nissan pavilion should be fired. We were dead center of the pavilion just above the V.I.P. seats, where the acoustics should be perfect, and they were far from it!! Couldn't hardly seperate one instrument from another. Not having Butch Reynolds anymore on tour is definately an adjustment the band has not dealt with very well. Tim Reynolds is an amazing guitar player, but can't add that rich sound that Butch did so very well. I hope they hire another keyboardist soon!! It was hot and muggy, but the band did very well with the energy level they brought. It was not a very disappointing setlist, just one I would have not prefered. I can't help it if I like "Recently" so damn much!! Dave's newer songs just don't fit as well without a keyboardist, and while Tim can rock out on a few, they still need to address this problem. If anyone reading this, knows anyone at Nissan pavilion that has to do with the sound system, kick their ass!!!! With all the money they make off these bands, the least they can do is supply them with the best audio sound. I can't believe the band didn't notice it at sound check. I guess you don't have 30,000 drunkards screaming at those though!! Anyway, unless they upgrade the sound system at Nissan, I will never attend another show their. On my way to N.C. Charlotte and then Raleigh for two more shows. Hope the setlists get more original and the sound systems are better. I know for a fact Walnut Creek in Raleigh has one of the best sounds of any amphitheatre on the east coast!! Looking forward to it!!! Later, Ants..........

I'm going to have to agree with you on the sound system. I was sitting to the right/middle section a little and I kept thinking about the sound system. I could barley hear/understand him speak at times or hear certain instruments. Kinda disappointing, it was my first Dave concert.

Just wanted to correct you so that you know from now on.

My second show of the tour...Loved "sledgehammer" being a Genesis and Gabriel fan...It was better than the first night of SPAC...Overall I liked the setlist and had a great time. I love seeing Dave but can only attend a couple shows a tour without feeling too much like a repeat. They don't have the complete setlist change every night and do not have enough improvisation as the Dead did. It's not a surprise every night like it could be. But still one of the remaining great bands of our time is DMB. Have a fun tour everyone!!!

My two cents. This was my 12th show ever. Couple of things to note. Timmy the people love you. Stay with the band forever. Ok thanks! The new video setup is pretty damn neat. Now about the show. I always have a good time at any DMB show. I just wish lately the setlist would match the good time I'm having so my time would be even better. You might think the first bad sign of the night was

DDTW was a good opener. Would of loved to see The Stone here though,
Old Dirt Hill - Honestly the new way it sounds isn't bad.
So Damn Lucky - Sounds pretty damn good.
First Dreaming Tree ever for me. Got me pumped!
Idea of you, you need to seriously go away. I was so hoping for Shotgun and I'm sure everyone else was too. Glad it's a short song.
YMDT while fun needs to go away too.
As much as some people hate Cornbread, it gets the crowd going big time. The crowd was alive during this one
The Space Between was a treat. When he mentioned before the song that he hadn't played it in a while I had no idea what was coming. It was a little sloppy which was understandable. If they work on this one a little more the people who get to see it later will be in for a treat.
Sledgehammer was another highlight of the show. Everyone who was sitting down was now up dancing. Sounded really good.
Eh Hee. First time I've seen this one and it was ok. I mean there are a ton of other songs I'd rather hear but it was ok.
Bayou. Go the hell away. K thanks.
OOMH. Best part of this song was when Dave mentioned there was a Monkey behind the piano with a orange penis and blue balls.
Everyday. Like Bayou. Go away.
Ants Marching. Always lights up the crowd. Seems the old way of playing it is back.
Jimi Tease. Thank god he stopped
SSTS - ASTB- Too Much. Always good to hear. I've just heard it so much.
Sister. Also go away
PNP - Rapunzel. Love these songs but not in this spot. Crush maybe?
Thank You - I haven't been to any shows this year but I'm already sick of this song. Thanks for the dancing lesson Dave

Sorry for the long boring review. The show was just disappointing. Crowd in back of me was dead. We were the last row Orch 2. Hopefully Va Beach will be better. It was pretty good last year.
