Dave Matthews Band
May 30, 2008
Post-Gazette Pavilion at Star Lake, Burgettstown, PA
Pre-Show ~
Ants Tailgating was amazing as always. corn hole, ladder golf, great music and jell-o shots were had by all.
Don't Drink the Water ~ Nice Opener. a giant screen came down and covered the band so you couldn't see them. then when they went into the song the screen cleared up and you saw the band jam. the screen then lifted up to the top of the stage and was a nice LED screen for the rest of the show.
You Might Die Trying ~ typical YMDT. i must say these songs all sound different without butch. timmy makes every song better.
So Damn Lucky ~ Amazing band set. it is about time the whole band starts doing Some devil songs.
Rhyme and Reason ~ very good song. timmy on the electric guitar makes this song much more interesting.
Everyday~ boyd's solo mid song was amazing. spotlight on him and he killed it. crowd sang honey honey though out the whole song.
#27 ~ this song is becoming a nice hit. sounds much more polished then last year.
Crash Into Me ~ typical crash. crowd liked
Gravedigger ~ AMAZING full band song. Timmy and Carter started it off. this sounded soo dark and evil. you gotta hear it.
Smooth Rider~ someone threw some sun glasses on the stage and Dave wore them though out this song. good sounds.
Corn Bread~ another song that is coming along very nicely. sounds alot better with tim in.
One Sweet World ~ Surpise mid-set song. sounded good.
Pantala Naga Pampa ...>
Rapunzel ~ another surprise. nice tone to it.
Stolen Away on 55th and 3rd ~ ehh crowd killer. i don't care much for this song.
What Would You Say ~ this got everyone back into the set. boyd and leRoi were rocking on this.
Louisiana Bayou ~ this song works soo much better with Tim and Dave. Boyd was all over the stage on this one.
Grey Street ~ good song. shouldnt have been the closer though/
Encore:
Sister * ~ Dave, Tim, Carter. slow
Thank You ~ this will be the most memorable encore in my 46 tour history. i have never seen Dave drop his guitar, dance around the stage, and wait for the whole crowd to sing "I want to thank you for letting me be my self, AGAIN" this went on for 7 minutes. the crowd would not quit. the band ate it up.
I have to say this was a great opening set list the encore could not have been better. my only problem was the time. the band started playing at 8:15. they ended @ 10:15. there were no long jams which was ok with. and no one will be upset butch isn't there. it sounds like these guys have been playing together for 20 years. (with timmy and Reshawn).
Well im off to bed. i'll see some of you again tomorrow!
