Great show tonight, Jeff and Tim were on fire as usual.
Bartender - I knew it was coming because I could see the 12 string out before the screens came down, Jeff was great on the Pennywistle.
SDL - So the tapers pulls don't even do this song justice, it's that good, the outro jam is fantastic.
ED - Went to take a piss and to get a drink of water during this song, when I came back the audience was doing the Hani, Hani outro and Dave joined them
Granny - Standard, but great
Jimi Thing - Fantastic Jam by Jeff/RR and Tim, moronic Dave scat as usual
Seek Up - Jeff and RR didn't do that great of a job on the intro, this song really missies Roi, Dave sang softly almost throughout the whole song.
ODH - Got another drink of water, came back to the downward chord progression by Tim
Corn Bread - Standard
YMDT - Not crazy about the beginning, but outro jam is some of the best stuff this band has, Jeff was boneriffic on this
Sledgehammer - Great crowd pleaser, heard it during the SC earlier and expected it, standard
OOMH - I enjoy this song, it's great to see Dave experiment, didn't kill the crowd at all, like the outro, pretty standard
Eh Hee - Standard
Money - Another great crowd pleaser, as usual Tim was amazing
SMTS - Standard but great
ASTB - One of the highlights of the night, you can tell the band is having fun and experimenting on some things
TM - Standard, thought this was the closer but...
TB - Great closer, Carter was on fire
---------------------------------------------------
We Want Roi - pretty much says it all
Crash Into Me - Dave said he sang it for a 12 year old boy that had a load of operations, it was good
Ants - Good encore closer
Overall I had one of the best times I've ever had. Got a set list from one of the sbd guys and they cut Nancies and Thank You.
JEFF IS AMAZING!>!>!?!????! I forgot he was God's gift to this world.

Good review, glad you had a good time. Seek Up seems to be hit and miss this year, it was awful in Raleigh but was awesome on the webcast I thought. Weird.

Nice review! I'm sad the So Damn Lucky outro was added after I went to my concerts this year. I would have loved to see it live, it's very beautiful.

I just saw the soundcheck info from the Atlanta show posted on DMB Almanac and must say I'm quite excited for the West Palm shows. Rumor is they soundchecked the following among others:
Round and Round (Dave only)
Sugar Will (Dave only)
Drive In, Drive Out (Dave only)
Drive In, Drive Out (Horns only)
Sugar Will (Whole Band)
Shotgun
Any confirmation on that? I'm hoping for any one of those down in South Florida.

I heard Sugar Will (full band) and Shotgun.
I can't completely confirm DIDO, but I thought I heard it faintly, then I switched spots and heard SW and Shotty very clearly.

That blows. I wanted TY at the NC shows last week. Was the encore supposed to be Crash, Ants, then TY? And where was Nancies supposed to be?

Just got back from the show as well. I enjoyed it but it seemed like I saw two different shows tonight...
We had lawn tickets (big big mistake). Last time we were here it was called Hi Fi Buys ampitheatre but since then HiFi buys has gone of business and they no longer sponsor the venue. I think they took their HiFi speakers with them! It was so quiet out on the lawn. Couldnt hear a thing. So here we go:
Bartender: Love this song... one of my favorites but I just couldn't get into it because I could barely hear it. I wish I was up close for the screens because from a great distance they look gay.
SDL: Great as usual but again... couldnt hear a friggin thing! I could tell everyone up front was just rocking out to it but I just felt like I could listen to a cd and it would be better cause I couldnt hear anything!
Everyday: take a piss
Granny: NOBODY on the lawn where we were knew it. I freaking loved it but just couldnt get into it because I looked like a wierdo because I was the only person into it. (I was going crazy inside and outside as much as I could)still couldnt hear.
JIMI: NIIIIICCCEEEE but couldnt hear well to appreciate it
Cornbread: Wanted so badly to hear this inperson with that amazing timmah solo with the duane allaman esque slide and was amazed by it. just couldnt hear very well
Seek Up: Nice quiet version but everything is quiet on the lawn
Die Trying: Amazing outro love how this song has come along. at this point I told everyone I was going for a piss but I wasnt....
Here is where the show went from bad to good for me. I started walkin around tryhing to sneak up front so I could hear better. I missed almost all of sledgehammer walking around and making up stories for the security guards so I could get past. I kept wandering around in between the VIP sec and the 200 sections acting like I was looking for someone but I was just trying to hear the show. Which was night and day better than the lawn. At that point a security guard starts giving me shit so I bullshit him some more saying I'm looking for my people but cant find them and then I hear my name being called and low and behold its my aunt and uncle sitting right there!!! So I sit with them and really enjoy the rest of hte show right there!
OOMH: if you dont like this song its ok because its very short and I was talking to my ant and uncle and before you knew it the song was over
EHHEE : this song was amazing tonight. SO tight and it was just on. everyone was going nuts dancing and the like
Money: Loved it. TImmy rocks on this. During this song I went and got the rest of my friends and we enjoyed the rest of the show up front. it was so much better.
The rest of the songs you know and love were amazing as always Just rocked the house. Billies was an extended nature intro longer strumming. i think that ants was meant to be here and billies in the encore. it just seemed that way how it started. oh and ATSB is very close to becoming a new cover.. Heartbreaker by Led Zeppelin. It's begging for it the way timmy is holding out that A chord. Im calling it here.
I think the sound system at lakewood needs retooling. the lawn sucks. my mistake not getting seats.

I was ready for it to take a break last year, it just needs a 3 year break now instead of only 1 year off

I'm trying to be positive. It was a lot of fun as it was our first real tailgate in my 13 shows. My parents bought my tickets after I upgraded so it was their first show, then my brother's wife decided to come, and I found a pair for two of my good friends, so we had a real good cookout etc before.
But we also heard soundcheck and got my hopes up with Sugar Will and DIDO.
Then we had the best seats we've ever had for a show. And the show was pretty good by all means, especially since it's the first of the tour for me.
Then my brother was able to get a setlist since we sat right on top of the soundboard which was awesome. But then I was disappointed when we saw all that we missed. You can also see ADSR was written in there.

Thanks for posting that, did you get yours from Fenton? Sucks to hear about the lawn, but I could have told you it was going to suck monkey's ass ahead of time.

I had been hoping to see TY at least once throughout NC, SC, and ATL. Alas, no. Oh well, can't win em all. They went over on curfew anyhow - too bad that they didn't just go ahead and whip out rapunzel and TY, that woulda really been sweet. I'm done for the tour now though :(

I don't think so, though I'm not 100% what he looks like :lol It was a kinda young guy actually on the second set of lights controls from the end. Earlier I'd seen a different guy standing there with them that for some reason I thought was Fenton.
I also saw Bruce Flohr again just before the show, walking around and then watching from in front of the sbd. First saw him at Hollywood last year and only identified him cause his nametag, looks like Keifer Sutherland, imo.

This is the one thing that drives me nuts about this band. If they were running low on time, why did they play a cover song(money) or a new shitty song(eh hee) instead of a classic?

that's a big bummer. if i had known the soundcheck and i had known they cut songs i would've been a little ticked last night.
the lawn in atlanta sucks, period. that venue sucks as well. no offense, but any of the nc venues that i went to are much nicer and the lawns were much much better.

I posted this in another thread but i just wanted to revisit the fact that I was really skeptical about this tour and it was very satisfying.
I thought the show was great. The '06 show was better but it went beyond my expectations. First off, we got there early enough to not pay for parking, pre-game with some brew, and meet fans (mostly because they were questioning why I was wearing a Cobb County Inmate outfit). Besides my girlfriend and I fighting during ODH, CB, and YMDT, i put my foot down when I heard Sledgehammer and told her to shuttie. Of course, we didnt hear some of the ones we were hoping for, opening with Bartender and having that run of songs before the encore, it was very energized. The jams weren't too long and were very tight. The interplay between the band last night made me realize how much I love them and respect them as performers. Timmy and Jeff weren't spotlight stealing and weren't very in your face as much as I thought but when they lit it up, it was on fire. The little nod to Roi at the end of Bartender was awesome.
Anydoodles, definitely a memorable show. It was a good solid experience. Nothing to go ga-ga over but very little complaints. To all the folks I met, we had a fantastic time.

I agree about Eh Hee, but Money sounds awesome. I have no problem with them playing it.
