Brief notes...

Seek Up: Wonderful opening 4 minute jam

Proudest-->Satellite: Solid

Cornbread: This is probably the 95th straight show they have played this song, but they really seem to enjoy it and Dave danced in a funny manner.

Sledgehammer: Solid

Stay: This was great cause during the end jam, rashawn keep signaling to jeff to ease up and end the song, but coffin kept going and going and all ross could do was shake his head and succumb to the fact that he does not have the lung capacity and stamina that jeff possesses.

Out of My Hands: Good

You Might Die Trying: Intense

Drive In Drive Out: Fresh

Sugar Will: I think the only people that stayed in their seats for this song were all the ants members who slurp on this tune. Mass bathroom break, put the crowd to sleep. This is not my opinion of the song, just observation.

#41: Jeff Coffin does not like to stop playing. Extraordinary.

Everyday: Stock.

Jimi Thing: Everyone soloed and delivered. Even if you are sick of this song, this year's version will change your opinion.

Grey Street: At the start of the end jam, jeff was a touch late grabbing the sax...i wonder if anyone else noticed that.

Ants Marching: Grey segued into this. Fantastic.

So Damn Lucky: Glorious

Two Step: Carter Beauford's performance on this was,as everyone on this board likes to say and overuse, EPIC.

This review sucks because i dont have enough adjectives to describe most of the stuff i saw tonight.

Elaborate on Drive In Drive Out and Sugar Will if you can. Glad you had a good time.

Drive In Drive Out was so good to hear. I saw there was a poll about what is the best spot for this song, and i must say it is delightful mid-set. Same with Stay. Moving these songs to non-standard slots makes the show less predictable and more enjoyable.

Sugar Will: I don't know what else to say except it was like there was a fire drill announced over the house speakers... It sounded good, but only for about 9% of the audience.

drive in drive out was big time fun simply because it hasn't been played in some time. Hearing the intro to a really energetic song after it hasn't been played for a while can get you pumped!

I forgot to ask.... Was anyone surprised when dave began the show around 825? thats like a 3 hour set. I havent seen them start in wpb before 845 or 900 from what i remember. I think they could be releasing a future live trax from here.

That sucks to hear this. Hopefully this doesnt discourage the band so they don't play it.

Seek Up- we got to the venue late after driving in from Gainesville. Bought beers during the opening jam. It sounded pretty nice even from the vendors.
Proudest Monkey-Have been waiting a while to hear this song, and its a good thing he played it the first night. Good spot.
Satellite-It was great hearing this live. It sounded very tight especially with Coffin and Ross.
Cornbread-I noticed a lot on the boards about people not liking the song. I myself really enjoy it. The part right before the chorus is always nuts with Carter and Dave freaking out.
Sledgehammer-I also noticed many people, by no means all, do not like the covers. I may be wrong but with the right amount of alchohol/ herb in your system Dave actually sounds like Peter Gabriel in this song. Great cover! Dave really got his voice ready for this show.
Stay-Good chance for Coffin to show his technique. I've seen him a hand full of times with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, and when I heard he'd be on tour, although I was upset and worried about Leroi, I couldn't think of anyone better to pay with DMB.
Out of my hands-HAD to go to the bathroom... got another beer in time for ---->
You might die trying-I really like this song, and energy was at a high at this point in the show. Although Taylor was not present Tim really helped to bring a thickness to the show I thought may be missing. Sounded great.
Drive in, Drive out-absolutely amazing.
Sugar Will-I was hoping we'd get to hear this after I heard they played it in Tampa. The jam at the end was disgusting. Blew my mind.
41-If the jam in Sugar Will wasn't enough, the jam at the end of #41 blew my face off. Coffin really went crazy and the crowd totally felt it. Typical nutty, abstract, jazz fusion with him on stage and it helped that #41 is one of my favorite songs. Absolutely amazing. can't wait to hear it again when I get the torrent.
Everyday-It was pretty good to hear this although there was a big, sweaty guy singing in my ear the entire time. ( I don't mind singing, but he was too close the entire show... and emitting heat.)
Jimi Thing-sounded pretty much like a typical Jimi Thing. It's my favorite song, but I can't say it was any different apart from Tim and Coffin.
Grey Street- Girlfriend got sick had to leave.
Ants Marching-*See above
Encore-
So Damn Lucky-Wish I could have heard this. Great song. You could hear it from right outside the venue. Sounded great.
Two Step-Friend told me jam at the end was amazing. Which figures. With Tim and Coffin on stage you can't go wrong.

overall review-amazing show. Probably within my top 2 or 3 out of 11. The setlist was insane for the most part. Jam on Sugar Will and #41 were insane. Damn can't wait until next year.
Enjoy!
