What a treat for all those in attendance! These boys can get down!
Mr. Reynold's brought quite an energy that the crowd absolutely loved!
Both nights were filled with energy and a mixture of old and new. This weekend is definitely at the top of the list for some of the greatest shows I have seen over the past ten years. That being said, I did miss LeRoi's contributions to the music. Jeff Coffin filled in well, but it was noticeably not Roi blowing!
Overall, I lean toward Friday night being the better of the two. Timmy rocked it out without over powering too much of DMB. However, both shows were such a treat!
As a new member to this site, I am disappointed in the negative criticism I read about the band's choice of song's in the set-lists, especially the encore. I have been to about 40 shows over a 10 year period, and I must say that I am never disappointed when I leave a show. No, they aren't all the same, and yes, you may hear the same encores, but I am there to hear what they play. I don't care what it is, I just want to hear them play. On the other hand, I do respect that all fans have their own opinions and different experiences have led them to those opinions, but can you be at peace with your negative complaints and still feel as though you are a true fan?
I am interested in any one's thoughts on this. What is your theory about this?

I was very impressed with Friday nights show. I have seen Dave around 10 times and this was definitely in the top 3. Wish I could have stayed for night two as well. As for the song selection criticism, I can understand it a little because I have seen Bayou as an encore three times now and it just seems like everyone else is kinda tired of hearing certain songs over and over. But there is no way fans should be so negative. I guarantee all the people who posted negative comments about setlists and encores would never say those things in person to Dave. They would grovel at his feet and praise him for putting on a killer show. Thats where the true fans and the "posers" differ. I first saw Dave in '98 and I will admit they aren't my favorite band by any means. But i would never talk shit against them like others have recently. Fans should give them a little respect!
I do credit Dave for keeping the setlist varied at Deer Creek from night one to night two. That is a huge turning point for him!
I will definitely be back at Deer Creek next year and hopefully Riverport in St Louis.

There's nothing wrong with criticism.

Spent the weekend at Sleepybear campground and wow was it a great time, much more fun than I expected, I barely remember the first night I was so wasted, but the party after the show was pretty fun even though most people went to bed.

Well said! Negative criticism would never cross the lips of those willing to dish it out here when it came to meeting/speaking with Dave! I wish more people with your positive thought would post more. I'm disappointed to read all these negative posts by know it all fans who seem to have lost the point of it all.

Thanks! I am a very dedicated music fan...especially regarding the jamband scene. Check out jamband radio at www.myspace.com/basementtapeswqna (http://www.myspace.com/basementtapeswqna) Can't wait to see DMB next summer or sooner! Any word on winter dates?

LAF, this guy clearly has to point the finger back at himself.
Blames DMB for his inability to meet up with the ladies? :lol
Never the case, and I am 39 with two kids!
