Seek Up ~ Long intro. Jeff did very well on this tune. like it.
Don't Drink the Water ~ 1st repeat from last night. fans loved it.. everyone was way more into the music compared to last night. gotta say Cleveland rocks!
So Damn Lucky ~ 2nd repeat from last night. Another good song. Its very interesting to hear these songs with jeff instead of Roi. Timmy still makes this song for me.
Corn Bread ~ 3rd repeat from last night. standard cornbread. i still dont get the lyrics from dave. kinda jumps around alot. fun thou.
Eh Hee ~ 4th repeat from last night. I love this jam. everyone loves this jam. its a total DMB song. alot of anger in this song. at least i think.
Sleep To Dream Her ~ Crowd killer... everyone forgot about this song. sec 12 got up and left when this started to play... man 2001 seems so long ago. 2nd time blossom has heard this song (last time was 8/2/06).
You Might Die Trying ~ 5th repeat from last night. the crowd went insane for this song. the progression from last year to this year is huge. it just sounds better.
#41 ~ Amazing. this will go down as my favorite #41 of all time. Jeff & Reshawn destroyed this track and timmy's solo was outstanding. Jeff was all over the stage and there was an amazing jam out between Jeff, Dave, Stefan, & Carter. this is a classic. gotta hear it. crowd was insane the whole way through.
Where Are You Going ~ Radio hit. not a bad song i just think it was put in a bad slot.
Two Step ~ 6th repeat from last night. Carter deserves a medal for what he did tonight. his solo was amazing and tops last night's soooo good.
Crash Into Me ~ 7th repeat from last night. another radio hit. crowd liked it. standard.
Drive In Drive Out ~ another great gem. people in Cleveland really like this song. You can tell Dave was all about it.
Louisiana Bayou ~ I remember 3 years ago when they played this song with robert randolph. This wasn't up to that level but with Timmy & Jeff it was something special.
Sledgehammer ~ 8th repeat from last night. 3rd best song of the night. Crowd in Cleveland knew all the words this classic. thank you peter.. thank you.
Anyone Seen The Bridge ~ 9th repeat from last night. Really do like the change this song is taking on. its becoming its own. no longer the bridge it use to be.
Too Much (tease) ~ Too much video came on the screen then...
Stay ~ Great Closer. crowd liked it. we all sang. encore time!
Encore:
Sister ~ Standard sister.
Little Thing (tease) ~ Damn it! another tease
Gravedigger ~ 10th repeat from last night ~ great song. love it
Ants Marching ~ 11th repeat from last night ~ everyone cheered. what an amazing night.
Closing thoughts.
11 songs from the night before tells you the band wasnt happy with the columbus crowd. when played in front of a good crowd it was much more rewarding. this setlist and crowd gives me goosebumps! # 41 was the song of the night followed by 2step & Sledgehammer. Seek up was great and sleep to dream her was a blast from the past.
Grade:
Crowd ~ A+++ there is a reason the band keeps coming back. we are the loudest in the nation!
Setlist ~ A- 11 repeats is alot but i understand why they did it. Classic 41 & Two Step with a stay closer makes me happy.
Band ~ A++ They came to play and no one should have gone home mad.
Overall: A
PS.
I just want to say thank you to Raven RR for cooking the burgers for us. it was nice meeting him. also Megan, whitey, Marissa, & the rest of the ants that we ran into. i love you guys.

Very enthusiastic review. Looks like one of the most ass shows I've ever seen on paper. If every one of those songs was the best version ever and Jesus H. Christ guested on guitar for the whole show, I still can't see how it could've been a good show. Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover. Worst show of the summer?

Hit the crack pipe again!!!! You obviously weren't there cause this show rocked. How can a show that has DDTW, 41, Two Step, DIDO, Crash, AND ANTS all in the set list suck!?!?!.......stupid.

I don't get that. Just cuz they repeated 11 songs doesn't mean they didn't like the venue before. It could just mean that they don't like Cleveland in the same respects. The band does what they want.

I think what he was trying to get at was they band felt let down from lackluster crowd yesterday to make up for it they repeated alot of songs. We all know they do what they want, but if they continue this 11 song repeat crap night in night out, talk about a total and uber bitchfest we will have on our hands. Not to mention the badass setlist game predictions. :lol
Also: What was the (Drum solo Intro) on Ants?

Worst show of the summer? It can't be. I attended tonight's show in addition to both West Palm shows a few weeks back. I must say that the Two Step in West Palm was the best i have heard in 27 shows...until this evening. Tonight's version was a notch above. I did not think they could bring the intensity on that song any higher, but tonight they managed to do so.
Hearing and seeing this Two Step alone was worth attending the show. This is why you can't judge a show by reading the setlist. Any random stop on tour has it's highlights and this one was special.

What is an asshole worst show? Anyway, don't wish bad things on Dave. You don't really want his voice to be shot a la Spring 2002 again, do you? One guy says a show sucked, and you call him an asshole. And then you state that you hope Dave blows his voice. So that makes you some kind of higher grade asshole I guess.

i thought it was a decent show, but seemed to lack any flow. i felt i was on a roller coaster at times, but that said the crowd was definitely better last night than at columbus

I attended last night's show - number 76 (including DMB, D&T, D&F and Dave solo). Now, keep in mind all opinions are just that, and that I found myself in Cleveland for a family emergency (so I was in a weird mindset) and just decided to go to the show that day. This was my 2nd show at Blossom.
I would have to say this was in my bottom 10, if not bottom 5 of shows I have been to. The setlist was weak, the flow choppy, the band seemed to lack energy and the crowd wasn't real into it.
This was my first show of the year, and the others I have very good seats, so I'll be able to judge better in a few weeks.

I don't think so! The repeat of songs were more than likely a case of what was the likelyhood that many people would attend the two shows? Back to back on weekdays probably not many. They have done this before at "single shows" I generally like your reviews, but that comment was way too harsh.

People are going to bitch all the time.
Others will look at a setlist, and in their elitist worlds be able to state "this was the worst show of the year."
I'd love to be able to pass judgement like that having not even attended the show!
I was there. It was only my 65th show. 2nd best concert I've seen, and the BEST overall concert experience I've ever had.
Knock it all you want. I was there. I saw Carter, Dave, and Tim have more fun on that stage than I've ever seen them have before. I heard great songs played better than I've ever heard them before.
In my opinion it was great. Yours may differ. The good thing is that I really don't give a shit about what anyone here thinks!

The jams during #41 were absolutely thrilling. The crowd around me in the lawn, along with myself and my friends were truely enjoying it.
With the exception of Sleep to Dream her and Sister, the crowd was roaring all night

Considering I was in the venue, your comments are ignorant. The only other Blossom show I have been to, in 2003, has a superior crowd (meaning louder) and out of the 76 shows I have been to, this was one of the worst 5. Not impressed with the crowd at all.
Calm down, just my opinion - maybe the crowd around you was better then the crowd around me, or maybe you were so numb from what you described as a lousy crowd from the night before, that anything seemed better, but I think the crowd sucked.
One thing I also noticed is that the show wasn't sold out - I know it usually does, despite being a big venue in a small market. I don't think Cleveland is in danger of losing their show though, like other markets, because its a perfect midweek stop either before/after Deer Creek or Pitt.

blossom rarely sells out. In Summer 2007, i think Rascal Flatts was the only band to sell out blossom. For 2008, only Jack Johnson (helped by $25 lawn seats), Rascal Flatts ( lots of country fans in Cuyahoga Falls), and i think Tom Petty have sold out Blossom

i thought 2003 was way more mellow then this crowd. 2004 crowd out the loudest i think its ever been. i remember the crew couldn't believe how loud it got. last night was right up there IMO. blossom never disappoints in terms of noise.

blossom was sold out.
Did it sell out last night?
I know that when I went into the gates at 7:30 they had lawn & reserved available & it looked they were massive parts of the lawn with no one sitting there.
BTW, when I said Blossom usually sells out - I was talking specificially for DMB. I might be wrong, but I have thought the band usually sells out the venue.
In any event, we all have our different opinions based on our seat locations, favorite songs, crowd around us, and mindset - and my opinion was different then some other people on this thread - big deal. Think of it this way - if you take all of the shows you have been to (lets say 40), 20 of those shows were below average shows for your own experience. I know that when I go to Houston & Dallas, where my seat locations will be much better, and Berkeley where I will be with all my old school DMB friends, just those circumstances will contribute to the experience.

I would imagine Blossom usually would sell out as its about 45 min from cleveland, and very close to both Kent St. and Akron U.
So you got a good sized city and two big state colleges right by there. And even a few smaller schools as well, Mount Union, Youngstown State, etc.
Easy sell for DMB.
