Just got back to the hotel and honestly, this show was fantastic. Burning down the house was practically magical, Willie was awesome, the crowd seemed into it and so did the band. Dave was dancing around so much, even tho I've heard a lot of these songs before, they played the hell out of them and it was such a solid, solid show....:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

The outside crowd started to develop as early as 24 hours before Dave and company would take the stage and play to a soldout, Louisvillian populus! Everything seemed to be in place for tonight's show; Jeff Coffin is well versed in the minutest detail and ready to open inprovisationally, and Rashawn Ross is right there as well. One Sweet World gave the woodwinds and brass the opportunity to shine forth early and establish a lofty musical bar. The unique set in deep centerfield was the envy of the stadium as only General Admission folks could vie for front row/center. Seek Up was strong in its aurial crecendos into the verse and on into the outro! Everyday was excellently tempoed and it made for an interesting ride through many of the fun spots in this song! Grey Street enthused the crowd somewhat from their "slow outt of the gates" apparent reaction to the band through the front end of this setlist. Gravedigger was tonally kidnapped by Willie Nelson; Willie knows the importance of personal interpretation, eclectic variance, etc.
The eh-hee/Cornbread positioning is quite interesting because once that kind of momentum is built up, it is hard to ease down into the softer side sometimes. The night's highlight was Burning Down The House cover; the crowd was super pleased all the way around with these fine measures. Sleep To Dream Her is brilliant in its darker side explorative tempos and prose. Two Step is a crowd pleaser that every Dave fan can appreciate; the message is priceless! Out of My Hands was special with Stefan and Dave exchanging graces! #41 was all Jeff's and Rashawn's; the improv was insane, the crowd deep into the feelings and thoughts of the evening. You might Die trying gave the crowd another Carpe' Diem song and the river kept right on flowing...The cover Sledgehammer was a bow the Peter Gabriel and another staple cover for the entire ensembled Dave Matthews Band. Dancing Nancies was extra special as Boyd chose to immerse himself into his unavoidable role as a can't-afford-to-ever-go-without-this-guy! Ants Marching popped out of a total guessing game on the next song , winding up to be none other than Anyone Seen The Bridge jam and To Much tease. Wow! The encore surrounded a strong Rapunzel with a couple of nice Dave Matthews Band tunes! This was a very unique show in a lot of different, interesting ways; this is what Dave and company specialize in and this is what's for reelz!

I'm tired, so I'll just say a few things.

Jeff is AWESOME. The few times I've seen Bela with the band, I've loved every minute of it. He really adds a lot and was sweet.

This was my first '08 show and I'm glad Tim is back. He too adds so much to the band.

Sledgehammer, I really wanted to hear it and it didn't disappoint.

Bringing Down the House was also sweet.

I was looking forward to Two Step, #41, Dancing Nancies, Gravedigger with Willie and Ants, and I got them all.

Can't wait for Tuesday in Cincy.

Don't know if this was answered or not but how did the screens work for One Sweet World opening?

They didn't use the "drop down" screen for the show. The backdrop screen showed the mountain/canyon scene throughout the song.
