Yeah, how was the rest of the show. Looked like a pretty good set, though a short encore.

I love when these "reviews" come in.

I might as well made a thread saying the same thing, nobody would think any different huh.

sigh.

An average two step is probably about the same length as gravedigger and sister and i'd take two step anyday

I guess you could call it "an average two step" if you consider an average two step 18 minutes in length, with a solid Tim Reynolds solo with an amazingly S-I-C-K beatdown by Carter. I think I'd take an 18 minute two step with Timmy/Carter going absolutely crazy vs. a 2 song 15 minute encore...

Lack of sax was most noticeable on OSW -- that song was the only one I remembered thinking to myself "sounded off" without Roi/Jeff.

It was also noticeable, but in a different/good way, on Crush -- where the muted trumpet really gave the song a different feel. It was always one of the jazziest numbers DMB plays, so it was almost like they gave it a Miles Davis type feel. I *really* dig the way it sounded with the Trumpet.

Oh yeah, and Carter crushed it on Two Step. Download the performance ASAP.

well, good to know that the Two Step was an awesome encore in and of itself.

41 and ants were probably the wierdest songs without a sax. two step in the encore ross played the bass trumphet which didn't sound that bad. My tapes sound pretty good at the beginning of the show then my stupid preamp decided it could start to lose power.... I've got alot of post work to get this one back.

Also surprised the band played halloween since dave said something to the likes 'if your lucky'. But low and behold there it was! Great Show. Crowd energy was awesome. Can't wait for Alpine!!!!!

Edit: hit 30 shows tonight (5th so far on the tour)

i just listened to the tapes of the halloween and its pretty badass. dave sounds awful but everyone else sounds good. rr05 is probably one of my favorites because carter sounds great on it.

RaShawn Ross filled in perfectly pretty much most of the time! I have adored him, and his "high and tight" sound over the past summers, so it didn't surprise me that he could fill in without a hitch.

As someone else said, OSW was noticeable different without LeRoi. However, like I said, if you enjoy Ross in the background, then you'll definitely enjoy him upfront.

the two step encore was over 15 mins long-only one song but an incredible two step with the longest drum solo ive heard
