Sadly this is my last show of the summer, but wow was it a great one.

Don't Drink The Water - solid as usual, was worried we'd be in for a mediocre night considering no sax was present.

One Sweet World- this song needs a sax, Rashawn didn't sound right by himself on this

So Damn Lucky - great 08 version, wasn't jammed out too long at all.

Old Dirt Hill - Short, very short.

Cornbread - this got the crowd going, Dave left the "Yeah Yeah I know you love me" part out which was surprising

#27 - hadn't caught it all summer until tonight, I like the bridge and Dave had some good lyrics in it tonight.

Everyday - let me start this off by saying the Halloween chants were the most powerful things I have ever heard by a collective group, the whole damn place was yelling it. Boyd started it off and Dave was staring at Carter the whole time up until it was Carter's time to bust in then...

Halloween - Christ on a cracker! I never thought I would see this song live, especially in August, at Riverbend of all places. Dave fumbled the first few lyrics then came back strong, way better than RR 05 and Vegas' versions. Dave had a smile on his face the whole time.

Water/Wine Jam - wow this could turn into something great, this lasted for about 6/7 minutes and had 4/5 verses and some great vocal work from Dave after Halloween. The crowd around me was great and were quiet as a whistle during this song.

Everyday - solid version, the crowd was still coming down from Halloween.

ASTB -> Too Much (fake) - knew it was coming although the stop time was very short, didn't know what it would go into

Tripping Billies - great version, Rashawn held his own on this and this was my first Billies of the summer and first time ever hearing it midset.

Out of My Hands - understandable break for the band, the crowd seemed to enjoy this

Crush - great version, it didn't have the duel obviously but Boyd and Tim both had some great solos, this had a very different feel too it tonight, and i liked it, Rashawn's muted trumpet and Tim's solos were nothing short of jazz at its finest.

Burning Down the House - this is 2nd only to Money in my eyes, Sledgehammer is nowhere near as good as this cover.

The Idea Of You - saw the little guitar at one of my concerts for the first time all summer and knew it wasn't going to be Shotgun. I must say the new Dave intro into this sounds great.

Granny - nice surprise late in the set, tons of energy and participation by the crowd.

Eh Hee - Standard, I like it.

Water/ Wine reprise - Dave came to the mic and said a few lyrics from the song, it wasn't more than 15/20 seconds.

#41 - I was curious as to how this would sound without the sax, and the answer is amazing. Tim did an excellent job doing Roi's fills with the electric and had a great solo, Boyd had a nice solo as well.

You Might Die Trying - this was actually a segue from #41 although it's not noted on here. Tim tore this version up, I figured this would be the set closer.

Ants Marching - sounded just fine without a sax, I like the longer outro.

Two Step - 1 song encore, couldn't care less after the show I just witnessed, this version had an INCREDIBLE solo from Carter, the place was in awe, I suggest checking this one out.

Overall, I am in complete shock still from the show. I was fortunate enough to see both nights at Deer Creek and Louisville before and this show ranks as a close second to Deer Creek N1 in terms of my favorite's that I've attended. The performances were spot on and I suggest checking out the tapes on this one.

The Water/Wine reprise had me puzzled...I had no idea what was going on with it :lol

The Everyday fake --> Halloween segue will go down as the coolest thing I ever see at a concert...no doubt in my mind.

I'll just piggy back on this thread with my review. First off, I went to the River Downs beforehand and went 2 for 2 in picking horse so $35 later we make our way to the venue (a very unique experience... horse racing and DMB all in one day).
My expectations for this show were low. Maybe expecting something a little unique without a sax player but nothing way out of the ordinary....

Don't Drink The Water - This land is your land.... a great way to start off the show

One Sweet World- I have always liked this song. It just feels like summer to me when this and Pig get played. Solid performance.

So Damn Lucky - The jam was great. First time I got to hear it with the extended jam at the end... a great reworked idea.

Old Dirt Hill - Say what you want about this song but this new "Dave & Tim Radio City" version was really good. Sounded almost like the DVD with Dave starting the song pretty much by himself while the other gradually build in. The ending was pretty abrupt as if you recall I believe most everyone like the little ending at Radio City Hall with the breakdown. Good story to begin this song about how Dave used to build ramps to ride his bike over.

Cornbread - Another good song, still reworking the lyrics. They'll get a finalized version for the studio worked out.

#27 - Pretty standard...there isnt much you can even change with this song from night to night.

Everyday - As was stated Halloween was being chanting before #27 and grew louder after the song. And it wasnt just a handful of people chanting it. A+ for the crowd picking up on this and going with it. Dave is talking to everyone in the band for awhile then Everyday starts in. I was thinking to myself "damn it... everyday... oh well, might as well enjoy it...", then Carter breaks into.....

Halloween - Wow! I jumped a few feet in the air couldnt believe what I was witnessing at all venues! The chants worked! A solid version of the song with Tim on it. I'll have to listen to the tapes but Dave was pretty damn good with the lyrics. It wasnt a Red Rocks fiasco with incoherent mumblings by any means. I could have left the show happy from that but then.....

Water/Wine Jam - Havent heard this yet this year and was pleasantly surprised into what they have turned this into. Pretty much a complete song... album possibilities??? Who knows but a great way to catch my breath and enjoy some soothing music.

Everyday - They picked this song up from where they had left it from before Halloween. Best version of the song I have heard but simply because we had just got Halloween. The place was still buzzing.

ASTB -> Too Much (fake) - Absolutely love ASTB. OMG teh energzy but I cant get enough. Knew a fake was probably going to happen since the past few weeks its been done.

Tripping Billies - Wow.... Dont think they had faked into this one yet. Great version.... the place is busting at the seams.

Out of My Hands - I believe everyone needed a rest. Not a fan of this song at all. I sat down for a minute to catch my breath.

Crush - Knew there had been some great versions of this this year. For the most part it was a more laid back version. Tim killed it though. Glad I am getting to see this man tour with the band this year. It gives a new feel to songs and in some cases brings it back to the original album version.

Burning Down the House - Seriously I thought they had put a cd in for this one because it sounded just like the Talking Heads. Great song.

The Idea Of You - Havent heard this song in awhile. Reworked the first verses. Will have to take a listen to the tapes to see if it worked or not. Dave did a little new intro with this one but the remainder of the song was the same.

Granny - I'll take this song anywhere, anytime.

Eh Hee - Tim adds a more rockin grunge sound to this song that it needs. Perfectly fits the song....

Water/ Wine reprise - Wonder what this was about .... a pleasant 10 seconds or so ending to the song.

#41 - Again place goes through the roof with the intro from this song. The muted trumpet on this during the solos I could have done without but Boyd kicks in his with usual solo and Tim rips it up again.

You Might Die Trying - This song seems to catch some crap from people on here but 4/5ths of this song is just the band playing. And yeah I'll take it at any concert I go to.

Ants Marching - I knew the end was upon us and was going through my mind "they havent played Ants, Two Step, Stay, or Bayou". Give me Ants and Two Step please!!! And wah lah we get Ants! Typical great song to end the set. Back to being played standard which is a good thing.

Two Step - It was 10:50 so I figured they may scrap to just one song. Which they did but Two Step was killer. Get this version to simply hear the 3-4 minute long Carter drum solo. It was funny, the lights are out except for on Carter and the band is all turning standing still looking at him beat the hell out of the drums. A great way to end the night.

My first trip to Cincy and wont be my last. Had great seats, the crowd was very loud and into it the entire show (probably a big reason why Dave decided to play Halloween). The heat and lack of any wind at all kinda sucked and turned it into a sweat fest for everyone. But well worth the price of admission!!

This was only my second show, but it blew last year's outta the water. Although Leroi wasn't there to bring up the energy, Rashawn definitely did a great job. Some songs sounded weird when Boyd and Rashawn played together, cause they sounded like a louder violin. Definitely loved Halloween and #41 was my favorite. Great show of many to come.

freakin good show-but as I said in another post -how in HECK can someone get seats in the middle reasonably close without selling his first born-(which, hmmm, might not be a bad idea)-are the warehouse tix better than you can ever get through ticketmaster? I would LOVE to have good seats just ONCE! Guess I could always have another kid. j/k
