hey thanks but when i try to open it with Utorrent it says its unable to open?

I have tried to load this torrent to share but, again, I am unable to down load it back to myself from am.org in order to seed it. I've no idea what the problem is but I followed the steps exactly as described in the torrent thread but I get an "invalid torrent" and am unable to d/l.

Any attempt to d/l this show is fruitless as I am unable to seed the show. Please to do not attempt to download. I will contact Matt and request he delete it. I apologize because I know that many want this show and I was hoping it would work this time.

I'm sorry about that. It appears that the problem is on am.org but I am not positive of that and would not want anyone to think that is the absolute truth. I'm unaware that any recent updates would have caused issues with the d/l and seeding of torrents but it has become an issue. It may also be the way the file is posted on the other site. I'm sure that if there is an issue Matt will have it fixed shortly. He's that good.

I need help. And trust me, I've followed all the directions in the torrent FAQ and everything but when I download it, Utorrent says its a invalid torrent file. Any help?

I've now attempted to d/l this torrent back to myself in order to seed in three different web browsers and that did not work either. I did not expect that to be the problem but I tried it just in case. I printed out the following steps and followed them precisely, checking and rechecking every step prior to performing it. But again, to no avail. I'm unsure of what the issue is or even where the issue originates but I can assure everyone that it is not my lack of ability to follow well written and easily followed instructions. I apologize again.

Step 1: Create a .torrent file

After starting up uTorrent, goto the File menu and pick Create New Torrent. A window will pop up asking you for various pieces of information. First, click the Add Directory button. A file listing will pop up. All you have to do is select the folder that the show is contained in (for example, d+t1997-02-07.daud.shnf), and click OK. In the Torrent Properties section, you need to add “http://tracker.antsmarching.org:2710/announce” (http://tracker.antsmarching.org:2710/announce%E2%80%9D) (without the quotes) in the Trackers field. Do not check any of the optional boxes presented to you, such as Start Seeding or Private Tracker. Once you’ve done that, click the “Create and save as” button. At that point, a box will pop up asking you where to save the torrent file. Go ahead and save it anywhere that you can find it easily. Once it has created the torrent, go ahead and click Close. There you go – you’ve just created a torrent file!

Step 2: Upload the .torrent file to antsmarching.org

Now that you’ve got your torrent file created, you need to upload it to the site. Start off by heading to the forums, and then choose the correct subforum based on what year the show is from. Once you’re in the correct forum, click the New Torrent button as you would create a new thread. On the subsequent page, simply choose the correct information from the relevant fields, copy and paste both the Source Information and the Checksums, and then click the “Attach Torrent File” button. On the window that pops up, click the Browse button, and find the file that you created in step 1. Click the Upload button, and once it’s uploaded, click “Close this Window.” You will be back at the new torrent page. Finally, click “Create Torrent Thread,” and you will have uploaded your torrent file to the site! Just one more step to go, but it’s an important one…

Step 3: Re-download the torrent file and seed it!

This final step is crucial to the process. In order to avoid confusion, it is probably best to go ahead and trash the original torrent file you created at this point. To begin seeding your torrent, you must now download the torrent file you just uploaded. Once you’ve downloaded the new file, open uTorrent, and from the File menu, choose Add Torrent. Find and select the torrent file you just downloaded from the site, and click Open. When the Add New Torrent window pops up, make sure that under the Save As area, you browse to and select the folder where the show resides. Once you’ve verified that you have selected the correct location of the show, go ahead and click OK. uTorrent will check the contents of the directory you just chose and, if you followed the directions correctly, will now report that you are “Seeding” that show! Congratulations! You’re on your way to becoming a contributor to the antsmarching.org downloads area!

I simply do not understand what is going on here. This show is now being seeded but not by me. I have no earthly idea how this is occurring. I still cannot download the torrent that I uploaded but the show is somehow being seeded. Would someone who was able to download the torrent and the ability to explain what they did please do so? I am at a loss for words.

Has anyone compared the audio quality of the Enter Taper recording vs the Mike Peters? I would certainly appreciate any feedback, this show is certainly archive material and I would like to have the best audio possible!

I think I saw Enter Taper wrote that he was just seeding a copy of Mike Peter's recording, so it's probably exactly the same.

Thanks again, it looked like am.org was originally forcing you to download a torrent file that lead to the download of the torrent file... Talk about a paradox... But thank you for those that pointed out the RSS feed page, and the second post that was the correct file.

Thank you so much to Mike Peter for getting the file converted and up so amazingly fast, I thought I would have to wait a week. The concert was amazing, hope everyone enjoyed (was there) or will enjoy (from the recording) as much as I did.

This was a great show despite the lack of Sax... and TR3 opened. Great set, great show for a venue that dave doesn't particularly enjoy... can't wait to listen to it.
