Warehouse great surprising opener. i really like how nancies and warehouse opened both shows. pretty standard version i suppose, butch is sorely missed and the new middle section sounds empty now.
Granny always a welcomed song in any set. pretty standard version but that is a good thing as it is a pretty perfect song
Pantala Naga Pampa...> Rapunzel another song thats always welcomed, tim sounded good during pnp. the crowd always gets going during this stretch.
Old Dirt Hill dave walked to the microphone before this song to talk and everyone cheered and you couldn't hear what he said. not a horrible song, but not one i'd want to hear at a show.
The Stone was hoping to hear this one, seemed like a pretty long version, crowd did the wise men outro, but the part before that was what stood out, dave did some extra singing and it sounded really good.
Crash Into Me dave dedicated this to the drunks in the parking lot that never made it into the show. good song, a little underrated i think.
Gravedigger went to the bathroom, tim sounded good though.
Rhyme And Reason awesome version with tim and the horns. one of the highlights for sure and one of tims first times of the night two shine
Stay Or Leave another nice surprise. carter was there but didn't do a whole lot, it wasn't too much different from dave and tim versions, but still nice.
The Dreaming Tree love this song. carter was really on at the end of it and coffin sounded great on the flute.
Sledgehammer not too familiar with the original version, pretty fun song, lots of people liked it.
Stay it's good to see it midset. i don't mind this song like some people do. pretty standard version
Lover Lay Down didn't expect it but was more than happy to hear it. if i remember right carter really found a groove near the end and the band hung on it for a while and it worked perfectly.
Jimi Thing bathroom break number two, but i didn't miss any of the good stuff, coffin was great as he was all night and time got another chance to stand out and he definitely did. could do without the dave scatting but whatever.
Grey Street the horns sound great on this. still miss the third verse, but i suppose thats long gone by now.
So Much To Say another song that i won't complain about hearing. tim had some nice fills and added a lot to this one.
Anyone Seen The Bridge...> one of the highlights of the show for me, it sounded great and the band looked like they were having a lot of fun. a couple times i thought they were getting ready for too much but kept going for a few measures.
Lie In Our Graves...> * after the too much tease dave started up with LIOG. my first time hearing it live in over 20 shows so i was pretty excited. boyd owned this song. my only complaint is that there was no time solo. it seemed like he started to at the end but then it went right into too much.
Too Much once again time adds a lot of funk to it. no slow section in the middle. thought this was going to close before tripping billies started.
Tripping Billies little nature intro before. always a fun song to see close a show, boyd was great and the new horn parts were pretty interesting.
I'll Back You Up (tease) definitely a real tease. disappointing to hear the start cornbread.
Cornbread a fun song, but lyrics are just plain bad. perhaps hunger for the great light part deux would be a better title. oh yeah, during tims solo dave danced and people went crazy.
Thank You knew this would be played and was kinda let down. it's fun, but i'd much rather hear something else like DIDO or even what you are. dave danced, people went crazy.
overall a good show. it's tough to complain about a show where you hear
warehouse
granny
the stone
rhyme or reason
stay or leave
dreaming tree
lover lay down
lie in our graves
tripping billies.
i think night one was definitely a better setlist, but i wasn't there so i can't comment on the performance. night two was good though, not the best show, not the worst. it was fun
