Houston: this was my first show of 6 this summer
Bartender - great opener. it's been a while since I've seen it full band so I liked it
Nancies - surprised to see it so early in the set. great surprise
So Damn Lucky - I've always liked this song. good performance. end jam rocked
YMDT - again, the end jam is sick
ODH - dave told a silly story about passing gum back and forth with some girl when he was a kid. this song has way improved over previous years
Cornbread - Dave danced like a fool here. he obviously loves this song
Grey St - sounds much better without butch
OOMH - crowd wasn't too into it, but i liked it!
Crash Into Me - standard
Eh Hee - probably my least favorite song of the night. i can use a break from this
W/W jam - short, band didn't really get into it and it was really quiet
Burning Down the House - the crowd really liked it, but i don't really. this was a bit of a downer stretch in the middle of the show
#41 - Tim reynolds owned this. hell yeah
Gravedigger - i've heard this 7 times in a row (lot of D&T lately). i can use a break
Sledgehammer - fun cover song
Ants Marching - I'll never complain about this one!
----------
WAYG - i know not everyone agrees here but i like this one.
DDTW - great surprise. this one is always good, and it means a 3 song encore
Stay - crowd thought it was a fun way to end the show
overall, there were a lot of songs that i used to listen to when i was first getting into the band. i was pleased with the show. i'd rank it maybe 10/16. not too special, but solid.
Dallas:
the crowd was way better here, and the band responded
PNP > Rapunzel - great opener. dave's voice sounded great
PM - Tim is awesone here. i love this song, and this year it's great
Satellite - solid
So Damn Lucky - same as last night
Eh Hee - again, probably the low point of the show (maybe BDTH)
W/W Jam - better than last night
Cornbread - again same as last night
Stolen Away - the crowd got quiet, but it got a lot of applause so i guess they liked it. my first time seeing it, and thought it was pretty good
YMDT - standard
BDTH - crowd loved this one
ODH - same as last night. again, a mediocre run in the middle of the show
Lover Lay Down - probably my highlight. beautiful, and Jeff Coffin was stellar
Money - crowd went nuts
Jimi Thing - it took a while for the crowd to figure out that they were supposed to sing the verse. good jam
Everyday - crowd sang loud here. standard
ASTB - changed a lot since previous years. i like it!
Too Much (fake) - i knew it'd be a fake, but i didn't know it would go into...
Halloween!! - I haven't been watching setlists since the 8/5 show. little did i know that Halloween got broken out at that show. i was SHOCKED. sweet moment.
Ants - beautiful sequence. i was sure it was closing
Stay - they just kept putting song after song together. fun ending to the show
------
Sledgehammer - fun encore opener
Two Step - thank god it wasn't Thank You. Fun ending!
this one was better than Houston, but both were a good time.
