I was kind of dissapointed just because I went to the 2 LA shows as well and there were only a few songs they played tonight (8/22) that they didn't already play at either one of the LA shows. Not that the songs they played weren't great, but I was hoping to hear some different stuff that I hadn't just heard a couple days before.

That tends to be the story the past few years when they've done two in LA and one in Chula Vista - Chula is usually a combination of the two LA shows with maybe a couple additions. Tonight we got 4 (Stolen Away, Sugar Will, LLD and DDTW), plus Danns Barnes' appearance on Cornbread made it unique. It's always tough trying to decide which show(s) to see down here. Usually we end up going to all of them, but this year we just did tonight.
I thought the show was great. Few highlights were Jeff and Tim dueling on Crush. Sugar Will and LLD were a nice, unexpected treat. Dreaming Tree is always beautiful. Carter tore up Two Step, as usual. And looking through the almanac it seems this was the first time DDTW closed a show since '02.
Anyone else think Dave was getting choked up during LLD? Especially through the "All the same..." part. I thought at first that maybe his voice was just giving out on him, but the voice seemed fine the rest of the show.
Beautiful night, as always - great place to see a show.

Great show. The one song I wanted to hear tonight was Bartender. And sure enough, it opened the show.
Kind of an odd set list, all things considered, though. Anyone else agree?
Ants was basically midset. And then Dreaming Tree followed by Burning Down the House? And doesnt it seem like a "rocking" song like Bayou would be the last encore song over DDTW?
I'm not complaining by any means, I just thought the order of tonight's set was odd. Again, anyone else agree with me here?

I wasn't at the show - so the only thing I can really say is that I tend to agree with your comment about the setlist being kind of odd.
Only slight disagreement with you is that I'd be happy to get DDTW anywhere in the set (love that song) - and from a purely selfish standpoint I kind of hated seeing it sneak in there at the end (going to Phoenix tonight and was hoping to have it there:D).
I just hope the show was great for all those who attended!

Oh, I didn't know that. I'm off to the Phoenix show tonight, so hopefully I'll hear some different stuff there.

i thought the show was excellent. the band's energy was very good considering the circumstances. the show ran almost 3 hours and the encore was supposed to be ddtw and stay with lousiana bayou closing the set. bartender was an excellent opener and it was obvious that they were carrying a lot of emotion during the song. i like the odd, unique setlist. not sure i would change anything excepting finishing with stay and giving us another 10mins to a great night.
